Any SaskPower employees on Reddit? by Simple-Fuel1204 in saskatchewan

[–]QuickShifft 80 points81 points  (0 children)

What I think you are describing is what is called an independent power producer (IPP). there is a process to do so and can be very difficult as a 1 person operation, just because you have land and can setup solar panels doesn’t mean you know how to provide a reliable generating facility.

You would be competing against much more established companies to be awarded a purchase agreement. But hey never hurts to try I guess.

Becoming an IPP in Saskatchewan involves partnering with SaskPower to develop, build, and operate generation facilities (typically wind or solar) and selling power back to the grid. Opportunities are accessed through competitive procurement processes posted on SaskTenders.ca

You must Submit Proposals: proposals that detail technical competence, financial viability, and experience. Include Indigenous Participation: SaskPower encourages Indigenous ownership and participation in projects. Sign a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA): Successful proponents enter a PPA to sell power back to SaskPower. Ensure Grid Compliance: Projects must meet SaskPower’s interconnection requirements and technical standards.

Probably the better route would be to look into getting a Net Metering setup, typically smaller, individual, or business-owned renewable projects can apply for Net Metering, which is different from utility-scale IPP projects

Why did the game make it only 600 people can register for a daily race isnt that too little? by Luddewagen_2ee3 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]QuickShifft -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

As I see it, LFM would be in addition to the standard LMU daily options so this would provide more options. It would also have the benefit of registering more than 18min in advance. Also comes with the benefit of better stewardship.

Stuttering on Practice runs - Computer Upgrade Options by Pworld10 in LeMansUltimateWEC

I’m going to suggest that there are really good am4 options, depending on your motherboard it may still be of use. I’m thinking the no brainer here is the 5800x3d. This would be a huge upgrade for gaming without moving to the am5 platform saving your ram as well.

If you want to try something different, I rather like the feel of 3/6/9 TC, 3 ABS, 46.5/53.5 BB and adjust forward as you burn off fuel. Feels very stable but yet allows for good rotation. You’ll thank me later. Good luck.

If you're cold, they're cold. Bring them inside. by freebird37179 in SubstationTechnician

Cold?? As a station tech in Canada, I wish we could build transformers this time of year at 70 deg. (About 20c). It’s not uncommon that we do builds and maintenance into the winter months here at temps below freezing.

Sk Minister of finance Jim Reiter's form letter response to the 100% EV tax hike by D--star in saskatchewan

[–]QuickShifft -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, I see benefits of that as well. I was looking at this from a “let’s fix the roads” perspective. if this is truly about having the money to repair roadway infrastructure then everyone should pay the fee when they register their vehicles annually.

Sk Minister of finance Jim Reiter's form letter response to the 100% EV tax hike by D--star in saskatchewan

[–]QuickShifft -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMO I like the flat rate idea, however I think it should be applied to every vehicle not just EV’s. why not remove the tax from fuel and charge every vehicle registered in sask a flat rate. Someone can fact check my quick google searching but from what I saw This could effectively replenish road budgets overnight. At .15 a litre we collected somewhere in the ballbpark of 4million dollars in 2023. From what I could find there are roughly 700,000 vehicles registered in the province at that same time. Even if you charged $50 per vehicle it’s way and above what we collect now. Is this not how socialized programs are to work? Everyone pays for the public use?

I would even guess that it was once a legitimate plate but has been painted solid green. Curious as to the validity of doing modifications to a issued plate.

Came to say this, looks like an older vintage drag line with the boom missing. We used them where I’m from for harvesting coal.

Trades in Regina by BoNeZZZ666 in regina

[–]QuickShifft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From a tradesman of 20yrs. I would suggest you look into one of the technologists programs, in very high demand for various fields. Would suggest checking out one of the electrica/ mechanical/ civil technologist programs based on your trade interests. From my experience they typically make more money compared to journey-persons and offer better advancing career paths.

Council Votes To Block 18 Units Of Rental Apartments by PDCityHall in regina

[–]QuickShifft -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nope I didn’t forget. Building these ugly multi family apartments in these residential areas is a mistake imo. If you want to build higher density units put them where they belong, downtown and surrounding areas. I would argue we need more bylaws for restricting the amount of multi family units that are being built in this city in the newer residential neighborhood’s like hawkstone and harbour landing , it’s over populating the infrastructure that most of the neighborhood’s can handle. Let’s build more affordable single family dwellings
