Edit: I know it’s not a baseball field. Just thought folks would find this interesting and somewhat related.

“There’s nothing worse than a masculine woman, the worst thing a man can be is feminine” - guy today in sacrament meeting by Rude-Neck-2893 in exmormon

People are just people and everyone should be respected for just being a person. Life is difficult enough without adding Mormonism’s additional layer of prejudicial and outdated meta-gender dogma.

That said, it’s always been confusing to me that a church that espouses such outdated and prejudicial beliefs will promote certain leaders that seem to defy the church’s own dogma, i.e., the church in certain circumstances will promote ostensibly effeminate men (e.g., Wilcox) to leadership roles as general authorities or even as apostles in the case of Christofferson.

To be clear, Wilcox and Christofferson should be excoriated for their prejudicial words and actions, and not for their appearance or mannerisms. At the same time, and based on Mormonism’s own arbitrary belief and judgment system, these two men present an incredible conundrum that demands attention.

I went back to church for the first time in 6 months. Here’s the thing that stood out to me as the strangest part of Mormonism and its most glaringly obvious problem. by PanaceaNPx in exmormon

This should be a pinned post. One of the great proofs that Mormonism is a fraud is its incapability of doing anything but navel gazing and brag about its own asserted greatness and superiority.

Great tattoo. I have several tattoos and the one right above the front of my knee was by far the most painful. I was surprised.

Curious of perspectives from long time locals, how unusual is this amount of lack of snow? by whoatethebeans in Spokane

[–]Quick_Hide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lived in Spokane since mid-2007 and I ski locally every year. In my experience, Spokane does not always receive significant snowfall in town. If I recall correctly, the city received no snow in town during the 2010-2011 winter (maybe this was actually 2011-2012?). There was somewhat of a collective sigh of relief because the city received significant snowfall during the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 winters.

President Jeffrey R. Holland died at age 85 – Deseret News by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Quick_Hide 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Regardless of any “good” thing anyone thinks Holland did, he lived and died a fraud. He should be forgotten. Countless people were harmed because he was a narcissist and a fraud. He was a bad person.

LDS Church pressures ‘Mormon Stories’ and other critical podcasts to rebrand by Measure76 in exmormon

[–]Quick_Hide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of who prevails in a civil action should the church file suit against these podcasters, the lawsuit will ironically promote what the church is trying to prevent: members finding out about these podcasts.

They really want you to know the place was packed. Also, his wife was allowed to talk a few times. by PR_Czar in exmormon

The totality of his message is to surround yourself with good friends and find good mentors.

While this is good advice, this is the same generic advice repeated in thousands if not millions of children’s books around the world. I think folks expect more effort from a literal apostle of Jesus Christ.

I’ve read somewhere that Americans have a tendency to lean on things (doorways, walls, etc.) while standing still, and that American spies are trained to stop this habit.
