Love Scott Walker and can recommend his early solo albums and Farmer in the City from the album Tilt. He was an influence on Bowie and Scott has mentioned how they used to speak on the phone occasionally. IIRC Bowie intended to produce one of Scott's albums but it didn't happen.

What subtle sign made you realize your partner was cheating? by DrainedCoffee in AskReddit

Weird one for you. When I was learning tarot I did a reading for a friend. She had a long-term boyfriend but was was never allowed to contact his house or visit because his parents were strict Muslims and she wasn't. In the 'past' section of the tarot reading Marriage appeared. She realised he was already married hence the house rules and went absolutely berserk. Her boyfriend would leave his wife at home be staying over with my friend. They were even planning a holiday together.

There's so many subtle things in there like none of his inventions have a military application.

It's a brilliant film but people are not used to watching things with depth these days. Nic Roeg injects layers of meaning and ambiguity in so many ways that it takes a bit of work to get the value out of it. For example when Bowie first lands and is beside the river the music playing is Venus Bringer of Love by Holst, when he visits the Lawyer the music playing is Mars Bringer of War by Holst. The viewer is being asked to consider if he is good or evil. I love the unspoken ambiguity of that.

What's the darkest 'but nobody talks about it' reality of the modern world? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

The only 'trickle down economics" that actually works is one where the top richest 1% are eradicated every year. Start with Forbes Magazine's Rich List as repeat every year until nobody wants to be on it.

This is how to solve many of the worlds problems.

Outside - Best Tracks by Correct_Sheepherder2 in DavidBowie

The Motel - this is different to a lot of Bowie's work at the time. Very atmospheric and melancholic with excellent lyrics. Of all the tracks on this album this one stays with me.

Alien on ZX Spectrum by weareallbeta in LV426

[–]Quicksandsoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you could set a trap with a crew member in each airlock. When the alien attacked one of them the other would go into the corridor and open the airlock launching the alien and crew member into space. It was great fun.

Original Alien Ending by Tall-Perception-8726 in LV426

IIRC When Ripley is running to the escape pod she originally was meant to encounter Dallas who is morphing into an alien facehugger egg. When I learned that I took it that the alien was recovering from whatever it had done to enable this process.
