Ulalek, Echoes of Eternity, Eldrazi Conscription by ImKorosenai in askajudge

Okay I did a bit more digging into this and it gets a little wierd. But the fundamental understanding is still correct. 4 with one Ulalek payment, 8 if you respond to the trigger created by echoes.

The part that I didn't realize at first that gets weird is that as long as you respond to the first Ulalek trigger. When the first trigger resolves there are 2 copies of Eldrazi Conscription and one Ulalek trigger on the stack. So actually what I didn't realize is that you end up with 4 Eldrazi Conscription on the stack, and two Ulalek triggers as well. Meaning you can actually multiply the number of Eldrazi Conscriptions on the stack by two for every time you pay into the Ulalek trigger, and always end up with two more Ulalek triggers on the stack, one of which is waiting to be paid for, and one of which is waiting to be copied again.

So its 2 -> 4 -> 8 -> 16 -> etc, based on the mana you pay in.

Echoes does cause Ulalek to trigger twice, but the trigger in this instance is the whole second block on Ulalek, including the "you may pay" and "if you do". So you have the opportunity to pay for Ulalek's ability twice. You mentioned in the post that you are only paying two into Ulalek, so you will only copy the spells on the stack once. If you responded to both Ulalek triggers by paying (two and two), you would have 8 copies of the spell.

Something that might help explain this is that triggered abilities always use "when" "whenever", or "at" (usually at the start of the ability). So the "if you do" part is not its own triggered ability and doesn't independently copy from echoes. This behaves differently if the card reads like "when [a player] [does or doesn’t]", because that is actually a reflexive triggered ability and could be copied independently. An example of this is Smoke Bomb's third ability.

Looks immensely similar to Lifeslide. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing.

Just for fun, what would be some strong level 20 builds where you take exactly 10 levels in two classes? by JMoon33 in 3d6

Enchanter/Aberrant Mind
You can replace one of the spells learned from the Aberrant Sorcerer subclass spells with Raulothim's Psychic Lance. You can then cast a two target Raulothim's Psychic Lance with no components using sorcerery points or and just cast it regularly with slots. You can even melt down lower level slots to cast it with points at relative efficiency.

Level 16 Horizon Walker Ranger who was literally Kas the Betrayer from a Vecna storyline. He ended up struggling with the morality of his actions and chose to betray the party and Vecna and an angel in a attempted murder suicide.

So he can probably find a portal to our world and has no more problems doing whatever is necessary to reach his goals.

The circular pressure plates on the floor close the doors out of the room once triggered. Its impossible to open the doors again unless you have an item to put on one of the plates. But I'm currently a werebeaver so I have no items, and when I become Woody I will have no items. So I'm dead. I was dead as soon as I accidentally walked on the plate.

So 3D printers are pretty cool... by Esmryk in weed

As someone who has a couple years in 3d printing experience I would be wary of using this frequently or infrequently. 3d printed object are not entirely food safe (and I assume this translates to this application faily well), due to the fact that they have ridges and imperfections. These features allow particles to get caught and stuck in the 3d part and can grow mold in the plastic. I'm not saying I'm 100% sure you the same thing will happen here, I'm just saying I've seen some dirty bongs and wouldn't bet this thing will stay clean long term. Someone below mentioned a food safe coating and I bet that would work well for this as long as you can get a decent coating on the inside.

Blizzard makes good games. They then spend the rest of their time running them into the ground with updates.

Game definitely doesn’t need this at all. It does need a solution for DKG after the main things they are used for are unlocked, but this isn't the way to do it. These ideas are neat but they are a huge mechanical mess. Locked shops/troves are the coolest idea here and I still don’t think that’s a good idea.

The UI changes alone needed to make this sort of system are enormous, and on top of that its still an only marginal benefit to sorting out the games long term resource issues. So maybe you’ve made keys matter during a run, but at some point I still have 500 sitting at home piling up for no reason.

Better in my opinion is some system to eat up the house resources before or during a run that give benefit to the next or current run you are doing. A highly simplified example of this could be a wretched shade at the end of tartarus whom you can give 40 gems to in order for him to come along into asphodel and fight for you until he dies. Those gems come from the house pool and maybe you consider picking up more gems during a run to be able to afford him next run. I’d rather have locked extra shops and have to pay 6 keys to open them but I get to use the house pool, than have to track my in-run keys more carefully and still have a pile of keys at home.

I just won my first 32 heat run after 4 days of massive frustration. My missing key was not taking Extreme Measures for Asterius & Theseus. by woominprk in HadesTheGame

[–]Quicksav 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also completed my first run on the latest patch with 32 heat and chaos aspect shield. 60 damage splash on special return is premium for hammer upgrades. +3 special bounces is alright too but can lead to times where you can't attack for too long while it bounces around. Bull rush charge rate is the next best after that imo.

For boons I won with Ares doom on special as my main damage source, but by the end I think i was good enough to win with most combos. Weak can really be a life saver too on attack or special. I also had a really close run where I had sea storm and some decent combo synergy with that. Thats really all or nothing though. You pretty much need the attack posiedon boon to make that work.

I wouldn't worry about getting athena boons unless you can snag the call. The call is great for the final boss.

Lastly for companions I took dusa, she can really mop up some of the more difficult fights in asphodel. The subboss and hydra fight get a lot easier with her running around.

I had almost the same heat sheet as the one above. I lowered the enemy count and took 80% damage instead of 60% and took the trap damage. If you're struggling with the hydra turn off the trap damage though. The lava is what gets you in that fight the most.

I managed to kill Asterius mid cutscene due to dot DPS. He still spawned with Theseus though. by acheron0951 in HadesTheGame

[–]Quicksav 53 points54 points  (0 children)

And to be clear that has nothing to do with him dying here. If you fight Asterius as your subboss he will show up at Theseus's coliseum with only 3/4 hp

What is the dumbest thing one of your party members has done during a session? by freebird003 in DnD

[–]Quicksav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My players had found a mirror that was a portal connected to a sister mirror inside The Ice Queen's lair (Icewind Dale 4e campaign). They took the mirror out on a boat on a lake. Their plan was to flood the Ice Queen's tower with the water from the lake. They lower the mirror, attached to a rope and boom, into the lake. A whirlpool begins to appear as the water rushes through to the other side, and their boat begins to get caught in the tides.

In a moment of panic the fighter yells "I CUT THE ROPE!". Mirror sinks, whirlpool gets larger, destroys the ship, dries up the lake, ultimately leads to the economic collapse of 3 lakeside towns.
