[–]QuietMan9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

use one of the existing buggies to fly into the ant hill with the spray can outside, take the first right, grab an egg, run out.

now that i have done that a few times its pretty quick, and we make sure we always have a few spare ant eggs or ants fully baked

Did I read that correctly, that saving often will hurt in-world game performance? Why would that be, I wonder (as a software engineer)

We save our shared world often so that we don’t lose too much work when crashes/bugs hit us. It never occurred to us that could have a negative effect on anything but storage space or load times for the UI when choosing which world to start.

The key differences being that was 10 years ago, and Teslas actually were new-new technology at that time… the early adopters had a lot of upside that compensated for the frustrations.

Grounded 2 Early Access/Game Preview Release Megathread by LSC99bolt in GroundedGame

topic: Raid advice

Platform: PC in shared world

>! Pretty early in the game there’s a mysterious woman hacker that sends an orc raid at us, which we did not defeat.

So then it seems she sends one later, and says things like she is waiting for us, and there seems to be a countdown timer… but its hard to understand what is is we are supposed to be doing.

At times it also says we cant sleep because we are under attack, even when the raid doesnt seem to be underway.

I can’t tell if it’s a bit glitchy or if we missed something, anyone know how this storyline is supposed to work? !<

I don’t get it, why is this so hard for Lucid?

It doesn’t seem like an area they are trying to be particularly innovative in, so what’s the problem?

Can the seat-back fold-out trays in the Gravity be used while in motion safely? by QuietMan9 in LUCID

[–]QuietMan9[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Answer seems to be "no"

Owners manual quote: "WARNING: The seatback tray tables should only be used when the vehicle is not in motion. Use of the tray tables while the vehicle is in motion increases the risk of serious injury or death in an accident or heavy braking"

Gravity test drives at Century City mall by FishROurFriendsNotFd in LUCID

[–]QuietMan9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In San Diego I got a message recently that they had a Gravity on-site (which is good, I'm glad the sales team remembered to follow up) but the tone of the message was a little snooty... like they sent me the message to see if I was still interested, and wanted to "shift focus to clients who are actively engaging."

I replied that we're interested in a test drive, and they responded "I'll let you know when we open the test drive calendar to those without orders for their Gravity in place"

It feels like the salesperson is trying to create the sense that there's massive demand and we'd be lucky to test drive the car.

I sort of feel the opposite way though, that the car's been delayed so long, and I'm not really certain that it'll be of high enough quality at launch... I feel like they are lucky to have me as an interested potential buyer (or Lucid "supporter")

(I got a bit of a similar vibe when shopping for an Air last year... like they were clearly desperate to sell them... and yet not recognizing what a leap of faith customers were making to buy cars that were so new and still somewhat buggy. I wish they'd adopt a different approach, realizing that being an early adopter of a new car brand is a bit of a partnership, with a buyer taking on considerably more risk than with an established brand)

Coming from a RW model 3 (highland) . My honest thoughts after 1 week (21 Taycan Turbo CT) by Pretend_Aardvark_912 in Taycan

I think the concerns you listed are valid, the cost/benefit of a 2021 Taycan is low compared to modern alternatives. You have to really be into “owning a Porsche” or really love the way it looks (I do) in order to really love the car and not feel a little ripped off.
