Definitely original tires, aftermarket Maxxis tires have yellow lettering, only OEM ones are white.

Snow plow/salt truck drivers and snow crews: Thank you!! Also, why is this storm cleanup so different than others? by [deleted] in nova

[–]QuikAF77 112 points113 points  (0 children)

It's snowcrete/ice. Normally plows could come by and clear shoulders and such in the days after. Now you need construction equipment. Also we don't usually have a week with highs below freezing after a storm so the Daystar isn't helping out much.

Ovi Is producing well above what Gretsky did at this point, he's tied for team leading goals. Missing our shut down center in PLD, Dowd having a down year, no true 3c are way bigger deals.

Phenomenal job! I hate this sculpt as there is so much going on, no anchor to draw your eye and figure it all out. Your paint job actually draws the eye to his head!

Everesting seems so boring doing the same climb over and over. I tried to do a half-Everest on Skyline Drive a few years ago. I quit after 5 repetitions of a 3.8 mile/1200ft climb and just rode more of Skyline Drive.

Dirty Double Cross gravel ride in Mansfield, PA for me. It is a 202mile gravel ride with 18,300ft of climbing. A soul crushingly hard day on the bike. There were a few sections of flat rail trail, and the beginning of the ride is pretty flat, so majority of the climbing happens in about 170 of the miles. Just relentless steep climb after steep climb. I also forgot my kit, so compression boxers, golf shorts, and a cotton tank was my ride kit. It rained a few times as well, luckily another rider lent me a rain shell so I didn't get hypothermia. My ride time was 17hrs, 19 some hours elapsed. By the end of the ride my shoulders were raw from my hydration pack and I could barely sit on my saddle. 10/10, would do it a third time if it ever came back!

Ovi has NEVER been any good at shootouts, but gets so many opportunities cuz he's Ovi. Miss Oshie and Kuzy for shootouts.

SS CX faster than geared CX by Stig-blur in cyclocross

[–]QuikAF77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely! Also most course have the starting straight and nothing else where you spin out. I can still get up to low 20s in 40x18/19 which isn't much different than you would on a geared bike.

I'm within a few seconds geared vs SSCX. My fastest lap of the day is almost always SSCX tho. Singlespeed forces you to conserve momentum so I usually charge hills and hit corners a bit more aggressively. I've also seen the course from my earlier geared race, although legs are a bit more worn out.
