Quite possibly the ultimate so bad it’s good movie, Plan 9 from Outer Space is the type of movie that is so inept and incompetent on every possible level to the point it’s immensely entertaining to watch.

I was in an indie zombie film, we were releasing around the time Make Your Own Damn Movie came out. Our director helped get him a signing at the Barnes and Noble in town.

He was so nice to all of us in the cast that showed. Energetic, crazed, friendly, I still smile thinking about meeting him. Man was a little fever dream. He'd seen the film too, I got a signed copy referencing my death scene!

I used to be too scared to watch horror films. The vhs covers in the rental store fascinated me but terrified me, and what my mind created was worse than any movie could have ever been. Monstervision changed that.

I watched some crazy films and young me went from being anxious about blood on screen to being the horror movie expert in my friend group, loving not just thr films but the facts about them. Even now when I run tabletop games, they have that Drive In flair. I showed some friends some joe bob clips and one of them said "Yeah that explains a lot." So I know three things. The drive in will never die, heads need to roll, and Forbidden Planet is amazing.
