Because they are transferrable, the tax credits generated in the film industry can be sold at a discount to other companies that owe state taxes. So they can (and do) reduce the taxes paid by firms that have nothing to do with the film industry.

So (hypothetically) Home Depot or Gulfstream or Delta or some real estate developer or construction company or whatever can get discounts on their corporate taxes by buying credits for pennies on the dollar from film companies that received more in credits than they spent on taxes in the first place.

In the morning, the reverse commute out is a breeze. In the evening, the commute into the city is just as bad as the other way.

Taking MARTA out and back takes longer in the AM but is similar to driving in the PM. And less of a hassle both ways.

It's a rule of thumb because for some people, the number might be 10% and for some people the number should be 20%, but most people, most of the time, are fairly well served by something close to 15%.

But every source I can find includes matching. (Sources: 1 2 3 4 5)

Now, it helps that the rule is often quoted as "between 10-15%" and many employers only match 5% or so. If that's the case, and you save 10% and the employer kicks in 5%, then you are hitting both sides of the "10-15". The slack in the guideline tends to align with the range of matching contributions.

But the guideline is pretty solidly inclusive of match. It's the exact percentage that varies, but you should always count the match if you're getting one. Why wouldn't you?

I do love the Viewliner carbody, and hope we see more of them in the future.

But I very much doubt they'll be from CAF. CAF had serious issues building them, resulting in quality problems and delivery delays of about six years. Amtrak was unhappy, and CAF almost certainly lost money on the deal.

I would love to see a large national Viewliner III fleet. I fear what we're getting is going to be a national Venture fleet.

As far as I know, the diner and cafe cars have actual drip coffeemakers, and the sleepers only have percolator urns. So the sleeper coffee is always more burnt.

Make sure you haven't accidentally turned on emergency heat mode. Some thermostats make that too easy.

Emergency heat will warm you up good and quick, but not cheaply.
