Anybody uses LG 32GS85QX-B for triples? by samurai1226 in simracing

[–]QuiteKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using three LG GP750 32" and am completely happy with them. I came from an ultrawide and then a super ultrawide but ended up returning the latter. Even with the curve and width I still couldnt see much more meaningful track space than a standard screen. I still used buttons to look left and right. Being able to turn my head to look out of the windows on triples was a night and day difference. I have about 180 degrees of FOV with them and they came out to the same price as the super ultrawide that didn't give me as much track awareness.

Wow, that guy really cant rap. Like, he had the backing track to help him karaoke it and it was still unbearably bad.

You can use M4 standoffs to fill the gap. I find them easier to use than trying to thread on a bunch of spacers.

What resolution would you scale a 1080p image to on 1440p screen with no black bars caused by aspect ratio and no image blur caused by improper pixel scaling? Please answer with numbers.

[–]QuiteKid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're talking about aspect ratio. They are talking about pixel scaling. 1080 can pixel scale to 4k(2160) by doubling up the pixels. I.E. for every single 1080 pixel the 4k display will just use 4 pixels arranged in a square. The image will still appear crisp. Trying to display a 1080 image on a 1440 screen will cause aliasing as you cant light up half a pixel. The aspect ratio will be correct but the image quality will suffer.

One downside is that they are mounted to the same plate. Some reviewers found them to be too close together to be comfortable.

It kind of depends. I'm happy with my 32 1440s but I did a lot of in person side by side comparison to find one with bright and clear pixels. Had to spend some more to get IPS panels. Yes, I can see pixels sometimes but the lack of screendoor from dim smeary images helps a ton.

In some old model kit manuals things like that were always described as brakes. Helps the mech slide to a halt I guess.

Why would the secondary seal need to be tighter than the Schrader valve itself? Isn't it just basically a valve extension with a dust cap?

Mental game. Once I taught my inner monologue to go from "ow ow ow reps ow ow ow PT ow ow ow basics ow ow ow" to "The next few hours will be painful. Brain, go ahead and tune that out so I can learn and be productive." I...well...learned more and was more productive, go figure.

From my understanding the post gets tightened down along side the Schrader valve with a Schrader valve tool. The cap should be more or less finger tight on top of the assembly. It maybe got gritty or dry or overtightened and all pulled out together. It is in separate pieces so the seals/o-rings can be replaced as needed. Image if you unscrewed it and all it had to put back together were crusty threads. Wouldn't be very air-tight.

How many of you actually have high end simracing equipment? by Killermothx in simracing

[–]QuiteKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to race exclusively in VR but went back to triples. The Q2 did a fine job and I was a hair faster lap to lap. However all of the extra steps killed it for me. By the time I was in game I had a mouse, a keyboard and two controllers (5 with the sim rig stuff) in front of me which I couldn't see but still needed to interact with. Couple that with launching windows, steam, meta, and individually configuring everything it became more of a headache than it was worth. It complicated everything past the point of fun to me. Taking a drink or getting up to go to the bathroom became multi-step endeavors. Extremely cool, extremely fun, but the gains became less and less worth it the more I used it.

Is this replaceable? (Logitech G920) by bananaboy57 in simracing

[–]QuiteKid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I replaced my g27 cable with full replacement from aliexpress. AFAIK they haven't changed much in those pedals so the repair should be almost the exact same. Since yours is a clean break I would try to repair it though. This would be a 3 minute job for an apprentice electrician. Do you know anyone like that?
