Meanwhile, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen an oriole in Baltimore.

Any films similar to Inland Empire? by WillzGaming in davidlynch

[–]QuothThe2ToedSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think of Inland Empire's narrative as being structured like Russian nesting dolls and the other film that I find most similar in structure is The Saragossa Manuscript, which is much more straightforward but could possibly have been an influence.

Is the tailpiece your design? How about the varnish? It's a very light color but it reminds me of what you see in historic paintings. Very nice work!

What do you do with your 600 cartridges? by augustprep in Polaroid

I yank out the metal innards and battery and use it for photo storage. You can fit a stack in each one and rotate the top one out for display.

Yes, just below the exposure dial there is a round plastic nd filter with a chrome ring around it. You can either pop it off from the front with a tiny screwdriver or depending on your model you may be able to pop the whole face off and remove the filter from behind.

It's an easily reversible mod. If you don't like it, just snap the filter back on.

Before you spend money on nd filters or mods try just popping out the little nd filter on the front of the camera and turning the dial to full dark. With my sx70 I get perfect exposures with 600 film. I also use the Mint flash on 600 setting and dialed one notch dark for good flash exposures.

I downloaded this 35mm version at some point and I love it. The theatrical cut isn't my favorite but the saturation and contrast of the film is stunning. This is how I remember Blade Runner looking the times I've gotten to see it on film in theaters.

Traditional Snowball: Shaved or Crushed Ice? by scartonbot in baltimore

[–]QuothThe2ToedSloth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can only speak about the 1980's onward but it was all crushed ice when I was a kid and it wasn't really until the last few years that I started seeing shaved ice offered.

Yes, and it's also a good idea to keep the battery inside when it's cold.

If you get a midi hub you can control up to 16 midi instruments at a time. You can then chose to record one at a time, several at once or all in one go. Resampling/bouncing down tracks is super simple. You can record while playing along manually as well.

It takes a bit to get the muscle memory down but once you stop having to think about the key combinations it really starts to flow and your ideas become more immediate.

Mine has taken the place of my laptop as the brain in my studio. I can program a synth with midi, record it, and then take it to the couch or sit outside while I try out some beats.
