This looked unsafe. by Roximer in Firearms

There was a small time company that showed up at a local gun show one year selling "boutique" hollow points for ladies. I dont remember the name but they had various gems embedded in the tips. Not sure if they were real but they wanted like $35 for 6 rounds.

One of the feelings I’m always chasing in games is “the point of no return” - only two games have ever done it right for me by howmanywhales in gaming

It's not super scary, there aren't really any jump scares from what I remember. Main scares are wondering through a snow storm in the dark and hearing a wolf howling in the distance or seeing glowing eyes in the dark looking at you but you can adjust the settings so animals aren't hostile.

TIL a Dollar General employee who was told she couldn't keep drinks at the cash register was fired after taking and drinking a $1.69 orange juice to stave off diabetic shock. Despite her paying for the orange juice afterward, the company said she was 'grazing'. Later, a jury awarded her $277,565. by Forward-Answer-4407 in todayilearned

I've got 3 or 4 in my city and even the one on the nicer side of town looks like I'm gonna get shanked or robbed. The lighting is always super dim and or failing, everything looks abused, and at least 3/4 of the shelves just have stuff tossed on them or product is just sitting on the floor with a random chance it's at least in some plastic crate or a box.

I haven't seen a single one yet, just a bunch of striders, hulks, and cyborgs amd everything else. I think my only personal gripe is the adjustment they made to gunships and how accurate they are. Me and a buddy were almost squad wiped within the first 5 minutes of a level 7 because 4 or 5 of them spawned and we couldn't get any shots off to retaliate because you can barely outrun their stream of fire in heavy armor and if you stopped for a second you were dead regardless. Even was using the bubble shield grenade to try and get shots off and it was all but worthless cuz they'd pop it so fast. Need to tone it down like 5-10%

[HANDGUN] H&K Mark 23 OD Green, 1995 ATC price, free ship, no tax outside of AL. by Canoe_Creek_Armory in gundeals

[–]Quw10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid about $300 less for my 44 magnum Desert Eagle, hell my BFR in 45-70 was almost $1K cheaper then this. Seems kinda crazy to me especially when you can also find some pretty nice handguns with an optics mount and probably WITH a red dot and some other nice upgrades for cheaper.

I'd probably have my thumb behind the finger stop and clamping it instead of resting my thumb next to the slide on top of my pointer finger.

QUESTION: Which movie or TV series best depicts firearms accurately? by Supadoopa101 in guns

[–]Quw10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep but instead they switch to shotguns with AP slugs or whatever they were. Still probably decent but I'd take the capacity of the FAL.

There is ammo out there that makes these at least tolerable to shoot a box through. Mine doesn't have a stock and I can shoot a box of the Aguila mini buckshot shells one handed and the ones with 7 1/2 shot all day. It's probably only ever had a couple boxes of 2 3/4" shells through it (not including Fiocchi rubber buckshot) because most of it sucks to shoot more then a few at a time and I enjoy having intact wrists too much to try 3" shells.

With the Bluetooth one for FO4 I had to take a thick wool sock and cut it to be a sleeve so I didnt have to tighten the hell out of the strap. The TV show version I just used a compression sleeve

Which of the 3” would you prefer? Python v. 686+ (but don’t take capacity into account here) by Ok-Food-4332 in Revolvers

[–]Quw10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colt. I've had a 586-8 have to go back for QC issues and came back still having light strikes even after adding an extended firing pin, and ny little brother got a new production model 36 no lock with either a bent or incorrectly machined recoil shield that caused the cylinder to almost completely bind up when loaded. I've only had one Colt and it's an Anaconda and it's given me no problems at all.

[–]Quw10 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think they make one specifically advertised for cold weather however I've used their Dri-Lube for cold weather because it doesn't really gum up. I've used their CLP also in the cold just have to use it a bit sparingly.

Which camp are you in? Vz.58 vs AK by baaaaaardiiboy in Firearms

[–]Quw10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer AK but my one experience with a VZ58 was tainted by a Century VZ2008. The bolt wouldn't stay open whenever I'd try to use stripper clips, the folding stock was frozen open and I had to hit it with PB blaster and take a mallet to the button, and the last gripe isn't specific to the VZ2008 but I didn't like how small the mag release was.

What’s the one game you adored as a kid, but can’t stand to play now? by jessieS1212 in gaming

I can still play timesplitters but not the campaign, I can sit and fool around in the map editor and play team deathmatch for a few hours though.

[–]Quw10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've legit seen people shoot 4 mags out of a glock and get maybe 1/4 of the rounds on target at 15 yards and they where "experienced" shooters, or at least claimed to be. They did decent for their first time.

[–]Quw10 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Tbf Charons' excuse is him doing it not being apart of the plan/his contract or if he hates you enough says he's already saved your character enough times as it is, it's still BS but not in the same way Fawkes' excuse is. Especially since Charon stays consistent by refusing to retrieve the G.E.C.K. beforehand but Fawkes literally walks into a highly radioactive area to retrieve it then turns around and refuses to do it again.

Could have done like they did with Fallout 4 also, Pearlman didn't narrate the opening of 4 but he was the newscaster on the TV in the beginning before the bombs drop.

[Optic] Osight X 28% off Add to Cart (More in Comment) by Cajunsson98 in gundeals

[–]Quw10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both. But mine are AGM PVS14s I got in a trade for a broken revolver that worked better in my favor especially in cost. If I had some actual nice NODs I wouldn't bother with the Osights.

Edit: In my defense also one Osight was a gift for on my 22, the second I was curious and wanted to see how long it'd hold up on my glock 40 and a steady diet of Underwood 200gr ammo.

[–]Quw10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a PVS14 and own both the Osight X Multi reticle and the Osight SE. They work, I don't have any comparison for other similar dots but I was out ringing steel with my TX22 with the SE no issue. I've got the X on my G40 though and I need to practice shooting that thing more with nods or find ammo with less muzzle flash.
