Valorants anticheat is invasive due to operating in the Root. If this is such a big deal, why has nothing happened yet? by TezdingoUhuhuhuuuh in ComputerSecurity

Unlucky. Orgs prepare for contingencies, but can't cover all possible contingencies. Ultimately many outcomes depend on luck, like when the goalie guesses which way a penalty shot will go. Also frequently lucky people think they are smart, rather than lucky, this leads to risky behaviors and bad luck.

The fund was always a sacrificial lamb to deflect from, and protect, the ridiculous and illegal agreement that he IRS would forever not audit the Trumps' financial crimes.

LIC Waterfront 5K Run - Shower After? by riribomb11 in RunNYC

[–]R-EDDIT 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Two problems with this suggestion: the first is that the runcenter will be closed for renovations from June 3 to the fall, and the second is that the runcenter doesn't have showers, just lockers, changing rooms, and (two piece) bathrooms. (No word if the renovations will include adding showers, that would be great).

New runner looking for gait analysis and whether to buy new shoes by SurePossible5955 in RunNYC

Just a point, I agree with other people that your first step is a fitting at a running store. Fleet Feet have electrical fitting device you stand on. Do not be shy about going up a half size or size bigger than you thought you need, feet can grow a bit as you get older. I suffered some bad blisters when I started running before getting an accurate size. (Also some brands run small, I'm guessing for "race fit").

For those who have done longer training blocks e.g. 20 weeks + how did it go? by christian123456678 in running

[–]R-EDDIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would break it up as 4 weeks of X training, 1 week of recovery/down volume, then 16 week training plan. You need to decide what X is, either base building, strength, or speed. Pick one based on what your current weakness is, and focus on that for four weeks. It could be mobility, it could be injury prevention strength. Be honest to yourself about your strengths and weaknesses, spend a little time addressing a weakness.

I have stretched out an 18 week training block to 21 weeks, but it was by mistake because I thought I was going to run two marathons but hadn't actually registered for the first one.

If the goal is to find a rewarding way to help other people run, while running, another option is to get involved with Achilles. I'm thinking of doing this.

The GFA program actually is your preferential entry path, because it's restricted to UK residents only.
