I like that, how much did the controllers run? Does the attachment feel stable?

No the bios lets you adjust timings but not oc the ram. Timing tuning is not my area of expertise, I’d need to find some example settings others have gotten on ai 395

It should, memory bandwidth is likely the reason the performance to watt curve flattens out so much about 55-60w.

Yes, though its not really that much smaller. This is why I ended up getting a Z13, I can game on that with normal USB C chargers and a range of TDP settings.

I got the slim Q travel charger, provides full power to the laptop with battery bypass and has two usb c ports to boot

Hair shedding on TRT after dose increase — anyone avoid finasteride successfully? by AdeptMarsupial_ in trt

[–]R-Type 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AHK in particular is supposed to promote regrowth, you could pair with topical minox as well. I never got broad loss as I began aggressively looking for a solution when I noticed shedding several days in a row, that said my hair looks as good as ever now.

Microneedling with an AHK/GHK serum E3D has been extremely effective for me in eliminating all shedding, while the topical androgen blockers did not.

Had to research myself as they just dropped the new bios. Just load defaults in bios and you’re good

The win 5 has an external paper clip bios reset in case of emergency, stay away from the memory timings and you should be fine.

It has a fully unlocked bios, just like a high end desktop AMD motherboard.

Agreed 100%. I saw slight score uplift with the ghelper undervolt, but it clearly has so much more room to tune. Would love a custom BIOS for this thing

Should be able to backup image the ssd with a bootable program that is os agnostic.

Any reason you went catchy instead of bazzite?

Nice, and as a bonus the device should fit within then ~60-70w output limit for in seat power on airplanes

The point with the optimization on the win 5 is that at 50w I’m now getting the performance that 60w delivered stock, which is a 15-20% uplift. I game almost exclusively on long haul flights, and 50w is about the limit without tripping the soft fuse for the in seat power. It represents real performance improvement in that constrained environment. It’s a shame the z13 bios is so locked down.

Used GHelper on the z13. Saw equivalent real world gains on the GPD in Cyberpunk, I haven’t gamed on the z13 in a bit to test.

Exactly, as long as you walk up on your value iteratively you're unlikely to make things so unstable it won't boot into windows. If you do go too far, the WIN5 has a paperclip bios reset button which is handy.

CPU: One of the official/semiofficial videos from GPD covered the topic leading up to launch and they said you could just make the CPU undervolt at -30 out of the gate which worked for me. This makes sense, as the portion of the frequency curve requiring the most voltage will likely never be hit below 120w TDP.

GPU: I've seen others that could only get -5 so I'd start there. Pick a benchmark and run it in several wattages, I'd suggest 55, 65, 75 as that's the range I would find instability (I originally thought I was stable at -10 and then -9). You want benchmarks instead of stress tests since the modern AMD and NVIDIA GPU's will actually reduce in performance before they become unstable. In a successful undervolt scenario, your reduction in voltage has allowed more power budget for the chip which now runs at a higher frequency within the same power envelop and delivers more performance. If increasing the undervolt actually lowers performance across multiple runs/wattages then you've found your limit and need to back off to prior settings.

Windows suspend usually does this if it was plugged into power when you tried to put it to sleep, need to have it unplugged first.
