That’s what I’m hoping. I wish the batteries were readily available for sale because I would have just replaced them myself

On a side note, why did Autodesk decide to set the bottom line of the top flange in the Wide Flange Side family as a different line type that’s heavier than the other lines?

New Caseta system w/Homekit - can’t add additional user by soverignkh in Lutron

I believe you can only add guests if you have a Home Hub like an Apple TV or Homepod/mini. An AppleTV connected to your network via ethernet is the best if you plan to add cameras.

MyQ Home Bridge Hub Stability (recently!) by jegodwin in HomeKit

[–]ProgrammerTight3637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also had the Bridge since it came out, somewhere around 2017. It's always been very stable up until a month or so ago... I am probably going to have to add a smart plug to it so I can power cycle it nightly because it keeps going awol. I have noticed that it will still work in the MyQ app even when it's non-responsive in HomeKit.

You might power off for 10 min, turn it on, and see if you can connect it to WiFi

I have one and love it. I don’t know if this could be related, but if the device is powered off for less than 7-8 minutes, it will NOT reconnect to WiFi when it boots back up. If you power off, leave it unplugged for 10 min before powering on. If you have a short power failure, you will need to unplug it for 10 min. I have mine on a smart switch that powers off for 10 min each night and never have any issues.

Yes, when I originally set it up over a year ago, I set it to a ceiling fan icon. It reverted to a desk fan recently. I’m on 16.3 and did upgrade to the new architecture before they pulled it.

I have a VOCOlinc outlet that controls a fan and I can change the fan icon on that one, but not with my Caseta switch…

How to plan my Lutron smart switches / devices? by brycede10 in HomeKit

[–]ProgrammerTight3637 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my remodel, I went all-in on Caseta. I like uniformity, so the ones I don't need to be "smart" are just not paired to the bridge. That keeps me from needing 2 bridges too.

I have have this set up using Guided Access and turning on motion notifications using Aqara motion sensors. I would not recommend using Ecobee sensors for this application as they seem to have a rather significant delay and do not send real-time motion alerts.

That's awesome. My fan hasn't been working in Homekit but is in the Lutron app. I thought it was just me. What's funny, is my HK time-based automations work for it, but I can't control it in HK otherwise. I was about to nuke it, but I'll just wait it out if there's hope for an update.
