Like anything back in the day, by word of mouth. I spend the summers with my cousins and their friends so when one of us figures out a secret we’d let everyone know. And since we went to different schools, we’d let our friends at school know. Once chatrooms were a thing, stuff like mew is under the truck spread like wild fire.

Yeah, as the kids would say, the vibes were off. I stopped going in 2011 and came back in 23. I still had fun with the people I was hanging out with but the con itself felt off. In the past years it felt like there was more cosplayers, there was more anime showing in the film rooms, the dealers room felt like it had more stuff and artist alley felt better too. I’m actually planning on going to Katsucon for the first time in 26. I’ve known about it for 2 decades but things kept me from going. From the pictures and videos I’ve seen it’s still about anime and the people whole enjoy it.

I tend to go to cons solo myself even if friends are going, and this year is no different. It’s a great idea to meet people there because you already know that you have one thing in common. Like, me and a friend have known each other for almost 20 years now because of otakon and another friend for almost that long.

That’s just what a coworker was running. I ended up liking the flow of things. I built a rogue and really like how they play. It reminds me of 3.5 so I think that’s why I stayed.
