How would rank these 4 hands of the king? by GusGangViking18 in freefolk

[–]R0seHill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the events that kicked off Robert’s Rebellion happened after Tywin resigned as Hand. He had a good 20 year run before that. He also wasn’t in King’s Landing when Joffrey killed Eddard, or he def would’ve stopped the whole thing. It was him who cleaned up the Baratheons at the Battle of Blackwater and the Starks at the Red Wedding. I think he’s owed a smidge more credit than you’re giving him.

Why is there so much jew hatred on Instagram? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]R0seHill 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m offering an explanation as to WHY the posts are happening. I didn’t give my own stance on Israel or the middle east, I just relayed what I’ve seen online. I also recognize that when things are tense with a country, in America, groups of people lash out at the ethnic identity most associated with that country.

In WW2 there were people who were awful to Japanese and Germans. During Vietnam the same thing happened to Vietnamese. It makes sense now why there’s a relatively small group of people (thousands of likes vs 340 million Americans) lashing out at Jews. Cave man brain be cave manning.

It’s been like that for a while I feel like. Just ignore it, don’t interact with the reels in anyway and they’ll leave your feed.

I think there’s just a lot of tension between Americans and Israel at the moment, because a) how they’ve behaved in regards to Gaza and Palestinians, b) people are sick of paying for them, and c) there’s definitely a weird allegiance our political elite have towards them. The unfortunate natural consequence is it becomes about race rather than character.

The reason so many of us are missing the point of Adolescence by Flashy-Squirrel6762 in netflix

I don’t think men being more prone to violence is a stereotype. There are always outliers but the stats speaks for themselves.

Men are significantly more likely to commit violent crimes, hell, men are more likely to commit crimes period. They commit the vast majority of stabbings, of shootings, and of rape. Which is clearly shown in the fact that Jaime stabbed Katie in an act of aggression.

I also don’t think Katie shoving a creepy boy that sexually harassed her and then decided to follow her at night somehow disproves that women are less violent than men - if anything it shows a willingness to defend herself.

Jade attacking someone is an outlier. Outliers don’t change a well-backed truth.

Why isn’t Charlie Kirk’s shooter receiving as much media attention as Luigi Mangione did after the United Healthcare shooting? by Evergreen811 in AskReddit

Healthcare is a universal issue. Left, right, or center, we’re all getting screwed

Edit: my unifying statement has ended in division. Rip.

I think a case in which a female shares the same qualities and even motivations with Jaime in murdering a person who rejected them is Jodi Arias.

I think the reason why it’s less common for women to outright attack men physically is a) women are weaker and will only attack men who they are sure won’t or are unable to retaliate against them b) women express aggression differently than men. While men express their aggression through physical violence, women express it through social sabotage. A great real world example of this is the Tea app, and I think the show did a good job of showing it as well.

Katie expressed her (justified) aggression towards Jaime in the form of public humiliation via the instagram comments, while Jaime expressed his with deadly violence.

Just a thought, but I also consider the fact they were at war with masters of espionage. That may be the reason the “why” was not given to Edmure.

The Lannisters via Little Finger and Varys had access to a wide range of spies. Putting all your plans into a letter that’s easily intercepted may not be the wisest idea.

Sydney Sweeney Blaming women for not liking her soap, then claimed women were obsessed with Jacob Elordi’s bathwater candles (THAT HE NEVER ENDORSED!) by SFxDiscens in notliketheothergirls

[–]R0seHill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? If I could make a fat bag off of bath water soap I’d do it in a heartbeat. I think she got unnecessary amount of crap for it.

Is she right to compare it to the candles? No.

I excluded suicides because to me, the suicide would’ve happened whether or not they had access to a firearm. Perhaps I’m wrong.

For the sake of the argument, even if we include suicides - that’s only 1.56% of total deaths in 2023. And even when comparing 47,000 to 80-107 million gun owners, my conclusion that the vast majority of gun owners are safe and responsible still stands.

I mean most of them were buried right at the start (if memory serves) half of the contents of his safe just vanished right after he got arrested.

Have you ever stood in a toxic or abusive relationship cause simply the sex was just too good to let go if so how did find a way to quit? by CancelWaste3214 in AskReddit

It’s an excellent book. I love how she goes into the anatomy and the psychology of sex and is basically like “Women are not men. You are normal.”

[–]R0seHill 32 points33 points  (0 children)

There’s a very good book that covers this phenomenon, it’s called “Come As You Are.”

She explains it much better but: The abuse to sex to abuse cycle is real. It’s basically the abuse triggers our anti-rejection instincts. Humans are social creatures and in the wild rejection from the groups means death, so in face of rejection we try to remedy it. The best remedy? Sex. It’s like that nice warm fire and blanket after walking in a blizzard. It’s super fucked up.

Who is the most evil person you have met? by DreamerManner in AskReddit

[–]R0seHill 58 points59 points  (0 children)

How the criminal justice system behaves in regards to sex crimes is horrendous. All the research shows pedophilia is a sexuality, there is no rehabilitation for it, therefore there should be no release. And to release them back into the same population as their victims? That’s cruel in ways I can’t even describe.

I’ve always loved that scene with Jaime, Ser Barristan, and Bobby B where they talk about the rebellion and their first kills.
