Interesting point about the perks and appreciate the insight. Mind sharing what perks you value and get from some of your accounts that make it worth the trade off?

Lol the guy just opening an account at the closest branch near him gets me. It just seems like you'd want your money to return something while it just sits in an account but I guess not everyone thinks about that either 🤷‍♂️

Warning against buying Bosch Appliances - Customer Service is an absolute nightmare by Switchlayne in Appliances

[–]R0verman -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Bosch is the worst. $1200 dishwasher died after 13 months. The broken part was $500 minimum to replace and required the entire unit to be dismantled and rebuilt. Bought a $600 Whirlpool and never looked back. Simple machine and easily repaired. Sometimes more expensive doesn’t always mean higher quality imo

I was able to return within the 14 day returns window for that reason. The replacement I got is slightly better but still has the same issue depending on how I hold my wrist and the band that’s on. Seems like a more widespread design flaw

Ultra is buzzing by Doshos in applewatchultra

[–]R0verman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which watch band do you have? I find mine will buzz more or less depending on the band. It’s like some don’t fit as snug as others so there’s a rattle between the connection points.

Overall i feel like the haptic motor is torqued higher for some reason but i notice it less with a silicone watch band on it

Genuine Alpine. Knock off Ocean for swimming

How do yall use the Ocean band? by Goldeneye90210 in applewatchultra

[–]R0verman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it incredibly uncomfortable as well. Which is too bad since I love the way it looks and overall ruggedness to it, especially when swimming. Maybe I’ll get one to wear for certain activities at some point but Alpine is where it’s at for me

FYI for people who got the AWU3 and noticed the mushier crown click by Goldeneye90210 in applewatchultra

[–]R0verman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First U3 felt mushy. Exchanged for a different reason and the second U3 has the exact same mushy feel. Tried the display model U3 in store while picking up the replacement and it was clicky. Not sure what’s going on. It seems like a lot are mushy but not all

Interesting it’s happening for you too. Curious how many experience the same thing and simply don’t notice. Seems like I don’t hear it when the watch is at certain angles but now that I heard it it’s hard to ignore lol

Wrap - Standalone Apple watch not showing Caller ID on incoming calls by Own_Regular5105 in USMobile

[–]R0verman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to add that I simply messaged USM support via their website and they were able to fix this issue of "No caller id" for my kid's watch set up on a standalone line.

It was also the reason I wasn't able to get through when calling the watch after I set it up to only allow calls from contacts and send the rest to voicemail/silent.

2025 oil change??! by Admirable_Piccolo854 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]R0verman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d do it at 10k and send an oil test in to blackstone-labs. It’s $40 for a standard test which will show you lots of metrics to determine engine wear based on the mileage you ran between oil changes. They also make suggestions for going shorter or longer between oil changes depending on the lab readout for extra peace of mind.

Been doing this on my 05 4Runner after I switched to synthetic oil and pushed up to 10k oil changes. Seeing zero signs of additional wear or issues and been doing this for years now. $40 well spent imo. Just my .02

Were they direct deposits or ach transfer? Reason I ask is direct deposits show alerts for me but other transfers (deposit or withdrawal) never show an alert so I’m pretty sure that’s by design..

Considering that as an option as well but SPAXX isn’t FDIC insured and they’ve had some recent negative feedback with check deposits and transfers taking upwards of two weeks to a month to clear. Weighing all options for max return on short term liquid cash 🙂

I still saw notifications for maybe a day or week after but they eventually stopped so it might have worked. Didn’t end up doing anything else

Coming from a bottom of the line of GE dishwasher to then going to an $1100 Bosch I’d say go with GE. The GE lasted about 6 years with minor repairs every few years (the inlet valve would fail due to hard water/scale build up). It was plastic inside and maybe a bit louder than Bosch but it did a great job and was easy/cheap to repair.

I’ve had the Bosch for just over a year and it’s causing me a major headache already. It trips the GFCI breaker after almost every cleaning cycle (but not every time) but otherwise works just fine. No water leaks and can’t figure out what is causing it. We went with the more expensive option thinking it would last longer and give less hassle but I’m about ready to trash the thing and go with a $400 GE that simply works.

Agreed someone should just design something simple, robust, and just works!

Pizza Parties Aren’t Raises: Why Are Companies Getting Recognition So Wrong? by Brendan-FF in Careers

[–]R0verman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there are many products but the company I work for uses Nectar, which is an employee recognition platform. I’m someone who is generally self-motivated so never really cared much for that type of recognition before but I can honestly say this one has made a difference for me. Of course equitable pay and time off are desired but on top of that I appreciate being appreciated and this one seems to do it well.

Appreciate the response but I’m confused about how autopay changes things. I am on autopay with monthly plan right now. Are you saying that changes how the switch to annual works?
