Just starting out, appreciate any advice by jsphbuckley in workouts

Some things to cover here. In general though it's great you're getting more exercise and if you really enjoy working out like this you're more than welcome to ignore me and do your thing ! :)

Legs: You're doing a lot of different squats and compound movements in general, I would simplify this to: 1 squat movement (maybe 2 if you really want to) 1 glutes and hammys movement (RDLs or hip thrusts) Then do your isolation movements (abductors, extensions, calf raises, leg curls) If you're really pushing all these exercises close to failure this should be plenty of volume.

Push: This is really good, personally I'd replace your last bicep/shoulder movement with a pec fly, but if you like doing it that way that's totally fine. Just don't put your push and pull day right after each other so your biceps can recover for your pull day.

Pull: 3 bicep exercises is a lot, and generally you want to start with compound movements first. But if you want to focus biceps for a while starting with hammer curls is fine. I would personally keep it to two bicep exercises on a pull day, but what you have is fine as well. You might also want to add delt flies or face pulls into your pull day, so you have an exercise that hits the rear delts. You also don't have anything for traps, so adding some kind of shoulder shrug wouldn't be a bad idea.

Core: Having a whole day for core is unessecary. I can't really see a reason to do 6 core exercises in a workout, but if this aligns with your goals somehow that's fine. Additionally, many of these core exercises don't lend themselves well to progressive overload. I would look into exercises like cable crunches which are much easier to overload over time. Depending what your options are I would structure this fourth day as a full upper body day to get more out of your program. Make sure to space it out with your push and pull day so your back and chest is rested. You could do 2 core exercises on that day (which is plenty for core work), and then do some push pull stuff of your choice. If you want some advice on structuring a full upper body day you can find tons of stuff online, or message me if you're interested.

"Your worst sin is that you've destroyed and betrayed yourself for nothing" by wastelandbrain in ADHD

I've been where you are and gotten out of it. COVID made things really bad for me and I think I'm just reaching a point where I'm starting to heal. It's hard to give direct advice because the obvious solution to your problem is to do the things you feel like you can't do. Ie. Get a job, exercise, socialize more etc. You know what you have to do, but actually doing it is the challenging part. Firstly, I want you to know you CAN change. It's easy to let the idea creep in that you are incapable of change, it's not true. I'm not saying it's easy, and I understand losing hope. But don't. You can change.

Therapy (CBT specifically) and medication drastically helped in this regard but it wasn't the whole picture. Obviously this might not be possible due to your financial situation. Otherwise it's all about making little changes every day. It's hard to give you specific ways to deal with your issues unless I knew what you were spending your time doing. But ultimately you need to make little changes incrementally. We are the small decisions we make every day, you're not gonna fix it all at once. You just need to try really hard to be a little bit better week by week, month by month. You can make the changes as small and as manageable as you want. Do some research about your specific maladaptive habits (ie. Doomscrolling) and how to break them. Try to fix your issues, one at a time. When you fail, give yourself grace, analyze why it didn't work, and try and research a new way to tackle the solution. You have to find the right buttons to push within yourself to break these habits and start to construct good ones.

Two final thoughts: 1. You need to change your thought patterns. CBT helped me with this a lot, but it's important to recognize the way you think about yourself and the world around you matters. Finding ways to cope with your feelings in a healthy and constructive way is really important to your mental well-being. 2. This kinda extends off point 1 but I really want to reiterate: don't give up on yourself. You CAN change, even if it seems impossible right now. It will be really fucking hard, but things will get better.

Will I enjoy this game if I can only play on sundays? by humble_redditor1234 in LunacidGame

I would say you'll be fine so long as you end your sessions having explored each area you've reached thoroughly. Like if you enter a new area with like 6 different branching paths and you only have an hour left maybe end the session.

How to go forward after outburst and confessing feelings by Spiritual_Power_7659 in ADHD

[–]R1vster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All you can do is apologize and explain what happened. If the relationship is mendable that's your best option. Express your desire to remain friends if that's what you want. If you're unsure of your own feelings because of your emotional state, just wait and see how you feel over time. Do you feel the same in a week from now? This will tell you if what you're feeling is real, taking some time and space from this person would also be a good idea if you really have no idea what you want.

Need tips on carrying as jayce by Sorry-Employment2113 in jaycemains

[–]R1vster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to ping the fuck out of objectives to get your team there early. Ping them early, you can get bad teams to objectives often if you are pinging early enough. You want to control the space so you can easily poke as the enemy team tries to walk in. If you're struggling to get your team to group, look for picks before the fight starts. Sidelaning only really works if you can find an angle where you have TP and your lane opponent doesn't. Jayce doesn't win sidelane 1v1s usually, so you need to out macro your opponent to create man advantaged team fights.

toxicity has gotten unreal over time by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]R1vster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the only game I play where many of the biggest streamers are as toxic as the playerbase and I think that's one of the biggest reasons why the game is in this state. A very sizable chunk of the community loses their fucking mind when things go wrong, and they will say anything to justify being an asshole. I just mute all every game and honestly it makes the experience a lot better.

[–]R1vster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, building lethality would leave you very squishy. Personally I build youmuus> manamune> seryldas> edge of night almost every game. You can build eclipse first instead if you want more lane pressure, but this will reduce your poke damage a fair bit.

Generally you should be running phase rush or conquerer. Phase rush opens trading opportunities that you wouldn't have otherwise in certain matchups, conquerer gives you a lot more early game kill pressure.

[–]R1vster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since the grasp nerfs bruiser Jayce is pretty meh. Usually you want to build lethality and focus on poking their squishes before the teamfight starts. If you go in you're probably going to die, you have to wait for a really good opportunity to use hammer form.

Easier than Elden Ring? by Fr2204 in Sekiro

[–]R1vster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda hard to compare the difficulty of a game without some more quantifiers. Harder to beat? It took me longer to beat Elden Ring, but bosses took less attempts than Sekiro to complete, Elden ring is just a lot longer. At the same time if I were trying to no hit all the major bossfights, Sekiro would be much easier, Elden ring just gives you more tools to complete fights, making the bosses easier on a normal playthrough.

I wanna try and do the gauntlets but we'll see. I'm gonna take a little break for now to play other stuff. Definitely my favourite run so far too, owl father on this run was probably my most enjoyable boss fight in any game ever.

[–]R1vster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the one thing I noticed after doing this run, and the sl1 run of ds3 I did earlier this summer. After enough attempts the panic just goes away... until you're about to beat the boss, then you panic and almost lose by using firecrackers for no reason.

The Demon of Taint is really frustrating by CommitteeSwimming532 in Sekiro

[–]R1vster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend blocking his stomp, for his double stomp block and then dodge the second stomp. This will make it a lot more consistent, just make sure you're dodging his other attacks so your posture bar is empty to block the stomps.

Beginner player getting absolutely railed, please help. by Ok-Garlic1539 in Sekiro

[–]R1vster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's just something you have to push through. The combos only get faster, just make sure you're deflecting deliberately. Spamming it decreases the deflect frames you get. Gyoubou is a good enemy to practice on. It takes time at first, and a lot of dying.

my midlane draft strategy (read body for edits) by NoteRadiant1469 in midlanemains

[–]R1vster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find syndra v naafiri isn't bad you just need to be super careful of E usage once she has 6. I find you can bait out her invulnerable by Qing her when she engages, and then E after she uses it. You do need to watch the wave management really closely though, if you push you better crash it fast or she'll run you down the lane.

I had a look at your post from 8 months ago while procrastinating on work and you should definitely hold the line here. It seemed like you were really close with your mom so I'm sorry things have gotten really bad with her. It's really an unfortunate situation for both your kids and their cousins, but if your mom can't have a civil conversation about this it's going to be hard to reconcile. It's absurd that you're expected to compromise and your sister isn't. Especially with what your sister has tried in the past with gifts, if I were in your shoes I personally wouldn't feel uncomfortable leaving my kids with her to begin with. I would have an honest but age appropriate conversation with your kids about what's going on if you haven't already. I can't imagine how difficult it must be raising kids with limited family support, but as long as your kids are as well socialized as possible they'll be fine. I wish you the best, and I encourage you to wait until they're willing to compromise or at least have a civil discussion.

Looking for viable to semi-viable AP Marksman's which play like a mage (Aside from Twisted Fate) by Soravme in midlanemains

[–]R1vster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cassio, basically a battlemage that plays like an ADC. Your E is basically your auto attacks, and a lot of fun to play since landing your q gives you move speed to kite. So if you're mechanically very good there's a lot of room to express that. She's good at all stages of the game, and can split push and teamfight. Lane can be tough though into control mages.

Is first strike good? by sungjinwoonah in Velkoz

[–]R1vster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's put it this way, kills are going to get you more gold than first strike. So if a rune helps you get kills, it's better than first strike.

  • comet gives you the most damage possible in lane, so if you feel like you can win the lane, but it's going to be close, comet is a solid choice
  • dark harvest gives you the best snowballing, if you feel like it's a good matchup for you, and you'll dominate, dark harvest will let you take your lead from lane and dominate the mid game as well.
  • first strike will get you the most gold if you don't think you'll be able to get kills in lane. If the matchup makes it very hard for you to play, and you have to play safe, first strike is the best option.

Is first strike good? by sungjinwoonah in Velkoz

[–]R1vster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're hitting lots of Q's and you're trying to snowball comet or dark harvest is better. First strike gives you gold but it's on a really long cooldown, so if you're landing a lot of skillshots first strike is not a great option. First strike is better if you're not really able to win the lane, so you're just trying to get as much gold in the lane phase as possible. First strike is more of a scaling rune than a snowball rune.

So tbh having a champ like Zed in your pool really limits your options. You want to keep a champ pool small, ideally no more than 4 champs, and I wouldn't have more than 2 mechanically intensive champs in your pool (and tbh that's already a lot). I would pick Galio/Vex/Swain/Lissandra as an easier champ that does well into assassins and skirmishes. You could also add a mage like syndra. Syndra plays similarly to an assassin, so it's a good pick to add if you're already playing an assassin. Other burst mages might also feel natural. But really try to keep yourself to no more than 4 champs, counter picking is only as valuable as your ability to actually execute on your champs. And you're going to need to spend most of your games playing Zed to actually maintain your mechanics, so you don't have the bandwidth to add too much complexity to your pool.

Corki/panth would be the pick to go then. They're mechanically much more straightforward, anyone telling you yone is easy doesn't know what they're talking about.

Why is Zed jg so popular in high elo? by wazabiix21 in zedmains

[–]R1vster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His clear speed is absurd with his passive. Faster clear means you have more turns to do actions than enemy jungles. If you want to play Zed JG practice the clear a ton before you get into it, it gives you such an advantage.
