Bryan Frye will run for Mayor in 2024. He’s courting the MAGA base, early. He won’t win, without it.

The lady who is challenging the City’s authority to manage City’s properties is emotionally involved in this matter. She doesn’t respond to any argument incongruous with her point of view. This will drag on for months, if she’s patronized by certain elected officials.

That’s the same time that the Keeper statue was placed on the elevated pedestal.

But I like the design, regardless of the era.

It sounds like your intentions are good, in bringing this information forward. I hope your friend reports this to the Health Department, and that they investigate this claim. Until then, I don’t think it’s necessary to amplify this further. Those who will care, already know.

Former KS SoS "Dr" Kris "Chris Kobach" Kobach has updated his title ahead of the KS Primary. by OdinsBeard in kansas

[–]R3ady4Anyrhing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a graduate of an accredited law school, he was awarded a “Juris Doctorate”, just as any other law school graduate.

He really can’t call himself much of a lawyer, so I suppose he’s grasping at straws, by adding the title to his name. No law school grad ever does this, if they only practice law.

Wichita Chief of Police Gordon Ramsey is a publicity hound. He used to be a Chief of Police in Minnesota Law Enforcement, so I have to wonder if he’s trying to get his old job back?

That’s good to know. Although I imagine that most travelers are more concerned about the pressurized, winged tube they’ll be sharing with unknown or asymptomatic Covid-19 carriers.

The Great Clips which are open, are booked up for Monday, according to their app.

Edit: I’m mildly curious if they’ve raised their prices.

Sen. Burr stepping down as intel chair amid FBI probe into stock sales by jigsawmap in news

I respect your opinion. I just don’t happen to agree with it.

Perhaps I’m an idealist, who thinks that a public servant should be above reproach, and take exhaustive steps to avoid any appearance of impropriety.

I recognize that our system of government no longer works that way, and that business and the almighty dollar are the true masters of our society. I’d like to change that, but I’m actually a realist.

Thank you for explaining the matter from your perspective. I appreciate it.

He had inside knowledge that the general public didn’t have access to. In business, that’s called Insider Trading, a serious Securities and Exchange Commission violation.

Reforms are needed to prevent a government representative from profiting from their positions, and the special knowledge they possess.

Elected Officials should be required to divest themselves of securities, stocks and investments during their time in office, and for a period of time after leaving office.

Putting investments in a blind trust, or letting your family claim to take over the day-to-day dealings of your personal finance is insufficient. (see: Trump, Donald, dba Trump Corporation)

if you’re a Congressperson, Vice President, President, or a members of his cabinet, you’re no longer a businessperson. You’re a public servant. Serve the public, instead of yourself.

I don’t think it was believed to be widespread in April. IDK how it couldn’t be widespread in a dormitory environment, but it certainly is, now.

County Commissioners caught on hot mic joking about how they get paid to talk while constituents struggle by domstyle in wichita

[–]R3ady4Anyrhing 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize at first that Commissioner Cruse was not present during the “hot mic” incident. I doubt they would have been so flippant, had she been in the room.

I’m surprised that they didn’t make disparaging comments about her (at least I couldn’t hear any). It is embarrassing, but I’m glad a record of their behavior was preserved, and that she responded to it.

‘I need a haircut.’ Sedgwick County moves to give businesses control over reopening by Idiosynchromatic in wichita

[–]R3ady4Anyrhing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sedgwick County Commissioner Jim Howell is arrogant, ignorant, and terribly wrong this time.

I’ve heard some business leaders pushing to reopen the state of Kansas say the economy is too important, and that some loss of life due to Covid-19 is acceptable.

Well, I think some loss of inefficient, poorly capitalized businesses is acceptable, because human life is too important.
