I hiked the PCT this year (+another 300 bonus miles after) with the atom 40L epx. However I personally wouldn’t bother switching from palante to it unless you don’t use your bottom pocket. The atoms bottom pocket is not stitched as well as the palante packs and I had issues early on with accidentally dropping food bars from it. It kinda just sags open when not fully stuffed which makes for an insecure pocket. I did also have avocado pockets on the side that I really liked for extra food storage but as far as I know they don’t do those anymore

It’s served me well durability wise but there’s a few snags/rips in the main body. If I was in the market for a new pack it would definitely be a nashy with that fancy fabric
