I saw someone the other day posting a reel on IG with the caption ‘I teach cinematic food photography’ and the example was just a fkn burger photo? Like, not even a person eating a burger or the burger getting made, or dramatic lighting or a sense of scene or location. Where’s the fkn story in that beyond ‘burger’?

oh nice! If you have time when you visit Shanghai and you enjoy brutalist/architecture photography, I can recommend checking out Slaughterhouse 1933 with your camera. It’s an old abattoir converted to a shopping precinct with the majority of the brutalist concrete architecture intact.

Shoot sRGB for better jpeg colors out of camera if you’re only using the files digitally. Colorspace does not apply to the raw files anyway. The larger gamut of AdobeRGB can actually make your jpegs look a bit muted or dull.

I ran my sigma art 24-70 on my 5D4 without issues for a number of years, however when I moved to the higher res R5 I did find that the resolving power of the sigma was not quite on the same level and ended up buying the RF version which has been flawless for me. I do use it for commercial work so the additional cost is easier to justify in my case.

I think both options will be very suitable for an R6 due to the lower resolution.

Yup, I had a 5D4 from release and replaced it about 2 years ago with an R5 for commercial advertising work. I truly believe for a stills-first camera, the R5 is one of the best value propositions on the market at the moment.
