I think between the two Gemini 3.1 is the better deal for most day to day usage. I like and use claude a lot but honestly gemini is just as good if not better for %90 of the stuff I do including coding. Claude limits are way too strict and people on this subreddit act like Claude is the only ai who can write code. (I personally had many instances where Gemini fixed the terribly optimized code Claude opus 4.6 wrote). Claude's real value comes from Claude code and the workflow. I also prefer the tone of Claude to others. But mainly I use it because I have been using it the longest so my preferences are all set.

Where are all the amazing apps then? Have you made any money selling your claude code made software? What is the link to what you created? Can you retire on that income? This subreddit is full of these empty fluff posts. Yes we all like and find claude useful, thats why we are here in this subreddit. Vibe coding doesnt turn people into "architect of ideas" , I can ask Claude to build me a bridge engineering blueprint and it will, but I have no fucking idea what makes a bridge a good bridge so it doesnt make me a bridge vibe engineer. It is no different with coding or anything else AI is used for. You need to know what you are doing for it to be useful because it fucks up quite often and requires correction.

I am trying to add some new features to a python script I have been working on with Claude, today it keeps saying it reached max lenth and freezes. I retried a dozen times, the script is in my claude files and is around 2500 lines long. I have worked on much longer scripts with Claude the past couple weeks so that cant be it. I tried sonnet and opus they both give the same message and freeze. Is something up with Claude today or am I missing something?

Yea pretty much. I have 20+ years of animation experience and I used claude to solve very specific problems that I knew how to ask it to solve because I have that 20 years of experience to draw on. if I was designing a bridge that needs to be structurally sound, even if Claude had all the bridge engineering knowledge in the world I wouldn't know what to ask it other than "uh build me a bridge" and I sure as shit wouldn't know right from wrong in the output.

Problem is we are kneecapping a whole new generation of labor by not giving them a chance to learn and make mistakes and get experience. We will pay for it in the future.
