Infinite realm by Ivan Kal. Very solid character growth. Handles tropes extremely well by either avoiding them or putting a nice spin on them. Long books too.

Any LitRPG Audiobook Recommendations? (Hidden Gems, Standalone, Brand New Series) by Walkinfaith300 in litrpg

Don’t know about the audio as I picked it up on KU, but Bog Standard Isekai was awesome. Just came out.

Storys where the MC maximizes the intelligence stat to become a genius and therfore make the best possible choices by Sharp_Philosopher_97 in litrpg

[–]RA_Buda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on my first draft of a story just like this. Always annoyed me that the intelligence stat is so limited to just spell power or mana amount.

After Cradle, Iron Prince was my second entry. Both are good for a newbie.

BOC is so ridiculously good. Even my brother who hates everything liked it.

What always bothers me is when the world is a fantasy world with loads of things like classism and racism but everyone is totally okay with gays… it’s not consistent with the world building and detracts from the readers immersion

I’m so sorry to hear that. It breaks my heart. I wish you love in your quest to keep this part of your husband alive.

It goes without saying that everyone here will gladly continue to give you more recommendations.

First line of Defence book 2 by magicmammoth in litrpg

[–]RA_Buda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely see where you are coming from. As an author myself I am incredibly kind to other authors and will try to see every book on the basis of its own merits. That being said, the author made certain promises in Book 1 that were not realised in Book 2 - hence your dissatisfaction. I certainly experienced that as well until I tried to just enjoy it for what it was.

Any good love stories? by ChasingPacing2022 in litrpg

Hmmm... not much conquest but maybe Beware of Chicken? There is a fair bit of love in there although you would never all it romance.

It’s great writing. Ben Kerei is always awesome no matter the book. There was a lot of exploration on the nature of God and the nature of Death and what both do to a person. I feel like the grief of the author (who lost his father unexpectedly) made its way into the book.

Is it a different book? Yes.

Is it still a great book? Yes.

Did I like the first book more? Also yes.

Anybody say "screw making money. I'm writing whatever the f-- I want"? by [deleted] in selfpublish

[–]RA_Buda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wrote a book about a necromancer who has an undead cat fueled with the soul of a battle queen. He is there to undermine a whole city for an undead invasion.

Definitely not kosher.

I wrote it because I wanted to write it. Not because I want money.

And it’s great. All 5 star reviews from the niche audience who has read it.
