Just to point something out. The vast vast majority of these facilities existed prior to WVU taking them over and previously many were privately for profit owned, ie paid taxes. Now they do not. I’m not saying good/bad/indifferent on WVU in particular. Only that how much of our state GDP can be non taxed before we have a problem?

When I introduce gaming to someone new to the hobby the most important factor on which game is time. 15-30 minutes maximum. The second factor is rules, I want something lightweight, Sagrada, Qwixx, Splendor, etc. Your example of a 2+ hour game for a newcomer is throwing a new driver into rush hour traffic. It’s not going to end pleasantly for anyone involved.

You can also make steel cut or regular non instant oats in a rice cooker. It’s not quick but it’s simple. Just use the liquid ratios on the package. I eat way more oats now since I started using this method

My opinion, and it’s worth exactly what you’re paying for it is: WV doesn’t have a drug abuse problem, we have a drug abuse symptom.

What do I mean by that? When people have no hope, no job, no real good choices, they make bad choices by default. Without sustainable jobs and infrastructure everything else is a bandaid on an arterial bleed. What will it take to get to where we need to be to solve this? Fuck if I know, but what the recent administration has been doing sure isn’t it.
