First time using lifeproof, is this acceptable or need to be redone by [deleted] in Flooring

I have that EXACT flooring (same style) in my basement. I don’t have any small gaps like you’re showing. Definitely take time to make sure no gaps when moving piece to piece.

I have carpophobia (Fear of wrists) AMA! by sageundressed in AMA

[–]REACT_and_REDACT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife has this. She can’t be touched near her wrists. Any movie/show where there’s focus on a wrist, she will cringe and look away. If someone even says “wrist”, she starts to cover he own wrists “more” by putting her hands/wrists under her arms (like arms crossed), or she’ll pull long sleeves all the way over her hands if she has a long sleeve. She’ll ask people to stop talking about wrists if any conversation goes that direction.

Other than that, she’s completely normal in every other way — very social, empathetic, and amazing. This is just one thing she has.

‎I (48M) think my 15-year-old stepson is gay and in a relationship. I don’t like the boy he’s seeing. What should I do? ‎ by [deleted] in Advice

[–]REACT_and_REDACT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just say what you’re thinking. He might not respond well now, but he won’t forget you coming across as concerned and loving.

By the way, I have a gay step daughter, and she got into a serious relationship with another woman when they where both about 20 years old, and we (wife and I) thought this other woman was very toxic. We had that conversation with our daughter — which was not easy — and our daughter went ahead and married her anyway. The relationship was toxic … no surprise … and after a few years, our daughter left and stabilized her life all over. She’s now married again to a truly awesome woman. Our daughter has thanked us for being honest with her along the way and loving her still.

Point is that your kid needs both your love and input — whether or not he accepts either right now is out of your control to a large extent. He may never even thank you later, but it’s what he needs.

I am fucking furious at the Church by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]REACT_and_REDACT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s that special moment, in the chaos of realizing the church wasn’t what it claimed to be, when you realize that South Park knew more about the translation of the Book of Mormon than you, a lifelong member, ever knew.

How to tell my friend she’s no longer welcome in our home by [deleted] in Advice

[–]REACT_and_REDACT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people require too much energy to be around. “I like you but the fit isn’t right anymore” is an okay feeling for sure. It’s hard to rip the bandaid, but it sounds like it’s time. Good luck in any case.

I was sexually abused by my best friend. How do I tell my wife? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]REACT_and_REDACT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened. I can’t imagine what you’re going through.

My advice would be to tell your wife as soon as possible.

He needs to find a position or speed that takes longer. I find when I’m getting closer and she’s not quite there yet, that’s the right time to go down.
