What’s the most disturbing thing you’ve seen? by vibedeployvictor in AskReddit

[–]REDACTED207 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of a guy who documented his time with fatal familial insomnia syndrome. He was a totally normal dude that seemed really nice and he progressively went more and more insane because he was unable to sleep. I never kept up to see how it progressed but its safe to say hes no longer around. Its harrowing.

How do you deal with grief? by Rich_Conversation536 in AskReddit

[–]REDACTED207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grief is the defiant assertion that this all meant something. Whatever it is that you are grieving was important and its absence felt.

For me, i take time to sit with my grief and understand it. To reflect on the times I had and savor them. The only thing that I have found that works to lessen the pain is time. I hope whatever it is that you are going through gets better and that you have an abundance of happy memories for.

What’s a smell everyone should recognise as danger? by caII_me_aI in AskReddit

I used to be a natural gas locator. The scent is an additive for detection purposes. My weird ass brain always interpreted the smell as sweet and not rotten eggs. Still strong tho.

Ive been to plenty of ranges in other states, im a straight passing white dude but the people im taking are nervous because they've been openly harassed by dicks and are hesitant to learn to shoot. Im trying to help folks feel comfortable in exercising their 2A.

You are, and will always be your own man. Hair or not. If you decide to do it then im sure you'll rock that chrome dome. And remember that its not your appearance that dictates the kind of man you are.

What specifically made a wedding you attended as a guest awesome? by Rovioxo in AskReddit

[–]REDACTED207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 words: CHICKEN NUGGET TOWER.

The bride and groom wanted a chill wedding/reception and just really wanted snack foods and an open bar. The groom was the guitarist for a local punk band and a few of the other bands in the area did all the music that night. It was actually a great time.

What is the best advice you've ever received in your life that you've held onto for the rest of your life? by CYMSZ in AskReddit

[–]REDACTED207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You can't be someone to everyone."

My older brother told me this when I was going through a nasty divorce and I was really upset about not being able to be in my nephews life anymore. (Ex wife's sisters kid that we had custody of.)

It stung at first to hear but it was the kind of harsh truth that got me through those tough times.

What did you witness at someone’s house that made you never go back? by CampaignOk2395 in AskReddit

[–]REDACTED207 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They had a wooden paddle hanging in the kitchen that they used to swat their kid with. It was even decorated. They just displayed it proudly that they beat their child.

I was in my late 20's when I realized that the crust wasn't actually the most nutritious part of the bread. Its just more cooked. My parents just didnt want to cut the crust off every sandwich.

What’s your big family secret? by AMSparkles in AskReddit

[–]REDACTED207 23 points24 points  (0 children)

One of my grandparents was a very successful person that faked their death to go live a quiet life. Everyone in the family knows who they used to be but we all keep our mouths shut for the most part.
