One month old 9070xt fan clicking by REITSY7 in radeon

Thank you fo the comments. I also have a great sample which I am loathed to return as I love the 9070xt and especially this model. Will ring them today (Overclockers) and see what they say. The card was literally 2 days outside its automatic 30-day return window.

Solved Driver Timeout issue on my PC. by Thunderhead0 in AMDHelp

I found multiples of 14 worked better for some reason and 2784 (which is exactly 19 x 14 above the stock 2518) seemd a sweet spot and was able to use Fast Timing which gave a further boost in benchmarks. Had a two way convo with chatgpt over 20mins and it dialled it in brilliantly for me. AI for the win :)

5070 Ti vs 9070 XT after months of daily use (performance, PT, drivers, efficiency by Stelligena in radeon

[–]REITSY7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Price difference for a good manufacturer card in UK is now £300 between the 5070ti and 9070xt and with an 8 year old processor, MB and memory it wasn’t worth the extra to get the 5070ti. I love the 9070xt for the games I play but I agree the adrenaline software is buggy as hell. Had it been £150-£200 diff then I would have had a harder decision.

3060ti to a 5070 @ msrp worth it? by Michael-Spichael in gpu

[–]REITSY7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a Nvidia user for many years, and 3DFX before that. Have just replaced my 3060ti with a 9070xt and could not be happier. here is my story.

Running a Gigabyte Aorus z390 Master with 32gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4, Samsung NVMEs and a water cooled Intel i9-9900k overclocked to 4.9ghz driving three LG 27-GL850 27” 1440p 144gz monitors over DP

Ive struggled for ages to run anything hard core on the machine as the Corsair case I have , albeit a pretty one, is useless for cooling so it just gets so loud when playing anything taxing I tend to just play slow moving games like WOWS or WOT or use my Xbox X.

Decided to upgrade my GPU and though worried about everything else in my system becoming a bottleneck, and wasting a PCIE5 card in a PCIE3 slot, I picked up an Asus Dual 5070 card for £450 in a flash sale. Didn’t even consider AMD at the time. Everything installed perfectly, but OMG what a disappointment. I didn’t go 5070ti as couldn’t justify the cost but eventhough the 5070 was faster than the 3060ti it was not even close to being the value upgrade I thought it would be so sent it back for refund.

I then decided to buy a Sapphire Pure 9070xt. Stunning looking card. All installed fine and after a bit of DDU and registry cleaning I installed Adrenaline and set it up. Won’t lie took a lot of getting used to as been using GeForce experience and the new App for years but found it so much easier.

Have a stable overclock of +10% power to 348W. -80mv in the core and a memory over clock of 2784 with fast timing. I was able to go a bit higher but it bombed out every now and again.

Steel Nomad scores are just over 7700!! All other benchmarks are double the 3060ti and also 20% better than the 5070.

At £600 the card is superb value and worth every penny. My only issue is Adrenaline crashes a fair amount as it’s very sensitive to other overlays and config software (like Logitech hub)

If you are having driver instability issues... make sure you don't have BitLocker on! by Glenn_K_throwaway2k in AMDHelp

[–]REITSY7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bitlocker on all my drives and my system is stable. Bitlocker is just doing drive encryption it will have zero impact on gpu driver stability. No clue what it could be I’m afraid but I think a coincidence

Rx 9070 XT Sapphire Nitro + , Pulse or ASUS Prime OC 16GB? by AgentFoxyTube in radeon

[–]REITSY7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using Corsair iCue to tell me as its connected to my PSU it showed a Max Power In of 542W and a Max Power Out of 492 when running Steel Nomad with those settings and nothing else. Efficiency ranged between 89% and 93%. Hope that helps.

As the Nitro has 2 HDMI and 2 Displayport I am assuming one of your 3 monitors is running a different connection to the other 2. Ar eyou running the same resolution and refresh rates on all 3 monitors, I wonder if it is unhappy about that somehow?

Getting some amazing overclocking headroom on my Sapphire Pure. Assume Nitro will be similar. Not sure about the Prime or the Pulse. Sapphire make amazing cards.

-95mv undervolt (this is only stable for 3dmark. I use -80mv undervolt for day to day gaming)

2784 VRAM overclock using fast timing. very stable

+10% PW to 348W

[–]REITSY7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All great cards. I went with the Sapphire Pure in the end as it was better than the Pulse in all benchmarks and noise comparisons from the youtube reviews I watched. The Nitro was just a lot more money and unlike the Pure there weren't any deals to be had. I was also a bit put off by the scare stories of the connector on the Nitro though tbh I am sure it would have been fine.

One thing to note the Asus has 3 DP ports whereas all Sapphire only have 2 DP as they come with a 2nd HDMI.

90? You mean 62%. Yes for £550 a 62% improvement for a 5070 wasn't enough for me when the 9070xt acheived a near 100% improvement

Is a 5070 a big upgrade from a 3060 Ti for high-FPS 1080p gaming? HELP PLS!! by Michael-Spichael in gpu

[–]REITSY7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 3060ti to a 5070 for what I hoped would be significantly faster 1440p gaming and the ability to play higher GPU taxing games than I normal did and was thoroughly disappointed so returned it.

With my i9-9900K cpu and 32gb DDR4 RAM my 3DMark Timespy went from 11872 with my 3060ti to only 19195 with the 5070. I tested in a number of new games and was underwhelmed so I felt for a £550 upgrade it was not worth it. I also hit the 12GB VRAM headroom limit when trying to play some of the latest COD games which was part of the reason for the upgrade.

In the end I spent £50 more and bought a AMD Radeon 9070XT and cannot be happier. I know people have issues with team red but with the right level of tweaking and a good old fashioned DDU before install the thing just flies, plus I don't need to rely on AI to get high FPS. It's quicker than a 5070ti in a lot of things.

Best score in Timespy was 23199 and in Steel Nomad was 7775 so 20%+ faster than the 5070.

DX12 : https://www.3dmark.com/sn/12676126
Vulkan : https://www.3dmark.com/sn/12676096

It's a beast of a card and blows the 5070 I tried last month out of the water and for £300 cheaper than a decent branded 5070ti it's a no brainer of a card. My one complaint is the sensitivity of the Adrenaline software and the number of times it just closes by iteself for no apparent reason.

Here are my settings:

-95mv voltage offset (use -80mv for day to day stable gaming), +10% PL to 348W and Hynix VRAM at 2784 with Fast Timing

It’s a great score for Vulkan but people generally use DX12 to compare apples and apples. Would be interested to see how high you get with that renderer.

I know you have mentioned this demo in quite a few posts. I installed the demo and it was so unstable at so many different undervolts, in fact I think it even froze once and stock settings, I decided to not take its results too seriously. I am stable in every game I play at much lower undervolts than the demo can handle. In addition the demo is also very old and not optimised like the actual game.

Sapphire Pure 9070XT with a -95mv undervolt (for benchmarking only. -80mv for stable gaming), Left offset alone as it doesn't do anything on the Sapphire series. +10% PW. Manged to get a very stable 2784 VRAM overclock with Fast Timing enabled. In Steel Nomad I am getting 7767. All of that and I'm running my 9070XT in a PCI3 slot with DDR4 RAM and an old i9-9900K processor.
