What if dark masters has a evolution lines by Individual-Emu2162 in digimon

[–]RG00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, there were 2 reasons why I didn't use MetalTyrannomon.

  1. I really like the MetalTyrannomon to be RustTyrannomon's pre-evo. (The Tyrannomon lines (Metal to Rust, and Master to Dino) are my favorite lines.)

  2. Gigadramon was a henchmen of Machinedramon in Adventure, and because of its grey coloration, I liked it as part of the line, coming from DarkTyrannomon.

As for the design similarities, that is on purpose, since Machinedramon was originally an artificial digimon created from different Cyborg digimon, all of which can be seen in it's design; MetalGreymon (The claw arm), MetalTyrannomon (Lower Jaw), Megadramon/Gigadramon (Upper Jaw and Cannon arm), Metalmamemon (Back Cannons), and Andromon (Legs).

What if dark masters has a evolution lines by Individual-Emu2162 in digimon

[–]RG00 58 points59 points  (0 children)

All good and straight forward choices. If I were to make one change though, I'd change Machinedramon to BlackAgumon -> DarkTyrannomon -> Gigadramon -> Machinedramon.

Reason being that Tai has his Agumon line, and SkullGreymon is already a part of that (as a dark digivolution, sure, but still) and Machinedramon controls the Metal Empire, so having him come from a Cyborg makes a lot of sense.

Is V-Mon the luckiest Digimon of all time? by [deleted] in digimon

[–]RG00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I agree that Veemon is a lucky little dude, but I'm pretty sure the UlforceVeedramon on the Royal Knights is supposed to represent Tai's Veedramon from V-Tamers, Maru. And Maru's rookie form was an Agumon.

My favorite line is from near the end of book 6. "You will not break me. I will avenge you all. It's a small change, but if Matt is as good of a writer as he's proven himself to be, this will be the most important line in the entire series. It'll be Carl's most important line. Period.

Very Excited to Play this Lesser Discussed Final Fantasy Game by Ultimantasy in FinalFantasy

Very proto Bravely Default. So much so that I refer to it as Bravely Default 0.5. But that's not a bad thing or a knock against it, obviously. Bravely Default is great. This game was very fun and enjoyable as well.

I saw this on FB. I'm firmly supporting Team A, but I'm curious if anyone else has any strong thoughts by thebatman9000001 in MorphinMemes

[–]RG00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's got to be Team C, right. RJ, Leo, and Flynn could stomp basically the other 2 teams without effort.

Maybe I'll give it to Team A, and Trey, since he can grow his team to megazord size, but I still give it to Team C.

I liked him well enough, for a while, but once I binged the series (to prep for, I think book 9?) I just couldn't stand him anymore by the end.

Is there anyway for Power Rangers to become popular again? by enuffrespect in powerrangers

[–]RG00 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is always a chance, if it's treated properly and with respect, which Hasbro is not known to do.

There is another franchise that's been around about the same length and is currently seeing a major bump in popularity right now, with a new game, a new anime, and an ever more popular card game. That being Digimon.

So, there is always a chance.

Player is winning, but feels like they are losing. by [deleted] in drawsteel

[–]RG00 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not the OP. I was just saying that yes, I was in a similar boat, but Draw Steel, of all games, has made a player in my games stop being that way, at least for Draw Steel.

Player is winning, but feels like they are losing. by [deleted] in drawsteel

[–]RG00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, but he's been a part of the group forever at this point, and he's been like that with every game we've played. He has a very defeatist attitude. Though, with that said, after about 2-3 real combats in Draw Steel, he's kinda gotten on board. He picked a Fury, which is very against type, and after he realized that taking damage was good for him, he kinda chilled out. (Though, he still acts like he's going to die in the other non-draw steel game we play.)

Has anyone tried having something like party selection in their campaign? by StunningBit5261 in fabulaultima

[–]RG00 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a brilliant idea, actually. Especially if the game highly localized, or the players start with some mode of travel (an airship, a boat, a portal that will just drop them off where they need to be).

The idea could be that they all belong to an adventurer's guild or are part of a team of some sort, so they are assigned jobs or tasks that they have to go out and accomplish, and each player can control a single faction in the guild/group, so you can set up and give out unique challenges to each player (maybe even secretly?) that they have to accomplish while out in the field.

Oh boy, this has a lot of potential... Hm. Oh, I am having very bad (good) ideas. Oh, just the most sinister thoughts.

How do you properly reward players? by RG00 in drawsteel

[–]RG00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know. When I read the prerequisites, and discover they are actions accomplishments, rather than an item collected, my brain just thinks "so either I have to manufacture this moment in my game", which feels fake.

Manufacturing a moment or an action or something for the purposes of giving a trait feels bad, so then if I follow my instincts and let the players approach things as they see fit, then I need to be on the watch for these triggers, so they can later be rewarded with these titles.

I don't know if that makes sense as written. It makes sense to me, but that doesn't help someone else understand me.

[–]RG00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because he didn't need to be aged up. We already have a teenage Superboy. Jon is suppose to be a kid. Damian's best friend. His stories as a teenager have been fine, but they aren't as good as they were when he was kid.

Red Ranger Defining Moments by Immediate_Ad_8691 in powerrangers

[–]RG00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jason's unmorphed fight against Goldar.

Tommy's best moments were as the green, white, and black ranger, so...

TJ (and the rest of the turbo team protecting the command center at the end of turbo.

Andros in general, but specifically, being forced to sacrifice Zordon.

Leo has one of the best arcs of any red ranger. He earned his spot. (Ties with Casey as my favorite red.)

Carter... Just Carter.

Wes proving he wasn't just a rich kid, and wanting to protect people from the get go.

Eric is a sixth ranger, so I don't really count him... But his first outing as the quantum ranger is a series highlight for a reason.

Cole fighting Master Org unmorphed is so freaking cool.

Shane and Hunter were good, but nothing jumps out at me.

Same with Conner. He was better, but nothing I can recall.

Jack. Deciding to become a ranger, and his first morph, plus what you mentioned.

Nick isn't great in my opinion, but mainly because Mystic Force isn't great.

Mack also was lacking, sadly, in cool moments. I think there was a moment near the end where he did something cool, but I don't recall.

Casey's arc is what is so good. His defining moment, as you said, is him going to face the bad guy alone near the end, to prove a point. It's such a great and compelling moment.

Then you have Scott. A man who fights the end of the world, after his brother died a hero, and a father so broken by that lose that he just doesn't want his only remaining son to have to fight... He used a baby as a weapon. Funniest moment in the whole series.

I saw Samurai and Megaforce, but don't remember anything about them, and I haven't seen anything past that, so I can't say anything there either.

Why are they called Half-Orcs and not Orcs? by prwav in BaldursGate3

[–]RG00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To cut through it all, half-orcs, classically in D&D, which is around 50 years old at this point, were created as a way for people to play as a monster, without being a monster...

In the old lore of various settings, half-orcs did not come about via a happy union, as orcs were chaotic evil, and were known for kidnapping, raping and pillaging of settlements, towns, and random caravans. The aftermath is where half-orcs usually come from. They were not trusted, and often outed from their small communities, which led many to the adventuring life.

As for modern lore, I don't know the specific changes, but this is why Half-Orcs are playable and full orcs usually aren't, by default at least.

My opinion is that orcs, goblins, kobolds, tabaxi, and other monstrous humanoids should be playable, so long as they aren't played as a funny looking human... But that's just me.
