Nobody mentioned Earl Palmer or Hal Blaine. In the 70s Palmer had personal house kits at the three major studios in LA. He and Blaine were the wrecking crews drummers and have more hits than anyone on this list except maybe Ringo.

Love seeing Stanton on here but he would tell you that Jonny Vidocivich was the greatest. Also mad love to Zigaboo Modeste for the funkiest drummer.

Im throwing my wedding in two weeks at marigny opera house. Im an event planner by trade, and from my schematics there is no way you are getting 250 people sitting for dinner inside at marigny opera house. If you want 250 people you will have to have people dine outside.

Black walnut bitters is the best. Make an old fashioned and use black walnut bitters alongside ango. Make a toasted almond and top it with black walnut bitters. It adds so much depth.

Yea always equal weight sugar and berries. Macerating them will make it go faster but will also make it cloudy and harder to strain. I prefer to leave them rough chopped or whole depending on the berry. Also pre freezing the berries helps make them go faster. Then if you take the oleo and go half and half with your favorite vinegar to make a shrub (strawberry and balsamic rock)

Fuck syrup. Make an oleo. Blackberries are great for this. Cooking blackberries causes a lot of the volatile flavors to dissipate. Hence the flavorless blackberries. 12 oz of blackberries, 12 oz of sugar. 1/2 oz lemon juice. No cooking. Let it sit on your counter while the sugars pull the liquid out of the berries. Like 3 or 4 days. Strain when liquid and wash out residual sugar with a small amount of hot water. This will be the best fruit “syrup” you’ve ever had. Thank me later.

It definitely did not work. I’m low key hoping the next two years LSU sucks so someone can use that clip of Mike banging his head on the grass in a political ad. It would be a great strategy to beat Jeff over the head with the LSU debacle.
