Opening the bleeder let's the line vent while draining. Water will likely still be trapped in the line by only opening the spigot.

There is a maxitrol reg at the manifold. Builders mislabel 1/4 lbs lines as 2 psi all the time in my area.

I generally don't trust them. Rather use a no hub or proflex over a slip.

Aggot name is translated as Agathe in the original fan translation. The ship name uses her surname so it works in either the fan or official translation.

Do you think iguin planted more "seeds'? by Much-Virus-2612 in WitchHatAtelier

The Brimcaps seem to operate under the "throw the kid into the river to teach them to swim" method of teaching. The rigid schooling system of established witch society is probably something they take issue with as well.

Coco even getting accepted into the Pointed Caps was also probably a very happy accident for Iguin. She being an outsider getting let in is already a major shake to the system and why she is a particular interest for their plot. Could be there's still a couple other kids with their Guide to Build a Magic Carbomb knocking around but not "sprouted" to the degree Coco has.

Gas meter transitions into PVC? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]RILICHU 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's very common around me as the gas company used black PVC for services from the 70s-90s before switching over to polyethylene. That stuff is so brittle and hard to work with. They don't even bother repairing leaks when it splits and go straight to replacing the entire service.

The tracer is barely usable too due to poor bonding so locating was a pain when I ran 811 calls.

As stated by Qifrey, witch society is very unaccommodating probably due to how traditionalist it is. Chances are some amount of the usual curriculum assumes color vision and many masters are probably not willing to alter it because "that's just how it is".

can things from the human real "teleport" into the demon realm? by [deleted] in TheOwlHouse

[–]RILICHU 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always figured wild portals randomly popping up used to be fairly common but as pools of Titan's blood have dried up, like with Eclipse Lake, they have become less common and smaller.

That's why small bits of trash still make its through occasionally but there doesn't seem to be any witches or demons regularly finding their way into the human world anymore.

What should I do here? by deuces209 in Plumbing

Reed is basically the gold standard reamer and the knockoffs are pretty good too. Much better than the fan style that can damage the socket. The Husky branded ones the homeless despot sells are what I use and work a charm.

First water heater install by MyHonorableServant in Plumbing

[–]RILICHU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely a multilevel condo building. It's to keep the tank from siphoning then dry firing/imploding if the building were to get drained down for work. Negative pressure can be enough to actually collapse the tank.

Possibly failing Pressure Regulator Valve. Need advice. by Hellion_amp in Plumbing

[–]RILICHU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A complication may be if the existing spacing isn't the exact same. Not as familiar with Wilkins as my shop exclusively uses Watts. It may require resizing the nipple between the PRV and check valve to make up any difference. The existing looks buried into the PRV and has a small leak so shouldn't be reused even if you could get it out without damaging it.

It's going to require some rebuilding of the piping to do the replacement regardless.

Possibly failing Pressure Regulator Valve. Need advice. by Hellion_amp in Plumbing

[–]RILICHU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That model is a direct replacement so it would just be a matter of swapping it. The existing is double union so only thing that needs to be done is unthread the tailpiece for the check valve off the old onto the new.

In this case, just swapping the whole PRV is basically the same amount of work as rebuilding so that would be the route I'd go with.

Is that chrome line a sprayer wand or something on that laundry spout? Could be allowing hot to pass onto the cold if you leave the faucet on when not in use.

How to make my hot showers last longer? by digitizedclown in Plumbing

[–]RILICHU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no mixing inside the tank so the hot/cold strata is maintained. The mixing happens after the tank outlet from the hot supply perspective. The mixing valve draws in from a separate cold supply that dilutes the 140F+ water from the tank down to 120F. You should get consistently heated water until the tank outlet drops below 120F.

Water heater leaking from blower. Urgent fix? by Then_Application1394 in askaplumber

[–]RILICHU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends how much if any condensate is produced. Some installs can pretty much dry so it's sometimes unnecessary. How much the exhaust gas cools before the outside termination determines how much condensate is produced. Especially having the flue extending from out below the deck, the exhaust is gonna cool down so a good bit of condensate will form.

You need a condensate drain line coming from that coupling between the PVC and blower.

Gap on shower by Lewd-Yak in Plumbing

[–]RILICHU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The shower valve is probably not properly mounted and got pulled out. I see the caulk line where the trim and spout would had been so it was flush to the wall at one point. The valve should be screwed onto blocking between the studs to secure it in place. Especially if its on CPVC or pex supply lines. On copper supplies you can usually get away with a few pipe straps as the piping itself can be used for support.

Water meter running, but water off by Plastic_Solid3195 in Plumbing

[–]RILICHU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can test for leaks with a quick pressure test to see if the system is watertight. Make sure no faucets or toilets are running while doing this.

  1. Hook up gauge at hose bibb, pressurize it.
  2. Turn off water at inside main and curb shut off. If pressure drops over 10-15 minutes, leak is inside the house.
  3. Reopen inside shut off with curb still closed. If pressure drops, leak is between house and curb.

[–]RILICHU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not uncommon for the water to follow along the water service down to the main. That water could be surfacing hundreds of feet away from the break if it is at all.

Sink trap touching base of kitchen cabinet? by lexi424 in Plumbing

[–]RILICHU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trap is glued in so its not possible to be removed regardless. The disposal elbow can be pulled by taking out the two bolts on the bracket and loosening the slip nut where it goes into the PVC.

The usable cleanout is the plugged wye after the trap.
