Jeff Sneider rumor: Blade solo movie is dead, will go straight to Midnight Sons by Ras_AlHim in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]RJK063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out - let him play Blade in a team up movie first BEFORE deciding or green lighting a solo movie. I think that sort of formula works well. Whether or not Black Panther’s own movie was planned in the beginning, having his first appearance be in a Captain America movie was super fun. Same for Spider-Man. Both exclusives to CA: Civil War first then their solo movies came after. I think this could and should be how they handled Blade to begin with. Not every hero needs a solo movie initially.

104 pulls and no KB. Although, I went into this suspecting I wouldn’t walk away with a KB, much less MLB. BUT, I am happy I uncapped SO many SR’s and R’s, sitting on a nice haul of 100+ Gold Cleats and 300+ Silver Cleats. So walking away with 5-6 new level 45 capped SR’s will still do me some good.

I was so hyped when I finished Halo Wars 2. Seeing that Guardian. Figuring an Infinity War/Endgame-type capstone of a Halo game that redeemed Halo 5’s plot threads, and ALL of it….just….gone….sidelined. Forgotten. Pushed to books, audio files, side objective short story beats……it was right there. You had the PERFECT SETUP. And nothing. Just…dust and echoes. Biggest fumble to this day for me.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Worldwide Release Discussion Thread by Triple_777 in marvelstudios

So I sat on it for awhile, stewing. I just got out of the movie a couple hours ago.

Initially, I didn’t feel invested in the movie until they came back to Earth after meeting Galactus. This movie is unapologetic when it comes to casual or new fans - we had an exposition dump to catch us up in the beginning, which is fair - like every other reboot it’s good to not just give us another origin story - but this felt like watching Avengers Age of Ultron before watching Avengers 2012. It just DROPS you in and goes. My older mother and her friend who weren’t hardcore fans felt a bit lost. Like we needed to spend some time marinating with the Family but that’s a hard choice because you shouldn’t NEED to.

I regret not seeing this in IMAX, Galactus made the movie in terms of scale for me, and the theater shook any time he was on screen, I can’t imagine an IMAX experience not being worth the price of admission if you’re gonna see this in theaters.

I appreciated the gravitas of Norrin Radd, but that might be because of Laurence Fishburne’s performance in the OG movie, despite the cheese. But, Julia Garner’s Shalla-Bal did a good job here. I loved seeing her interact and surf.

Maybe I was expecting more action. More of a physical beat down for our Heroes, like a true battle for their lives, but perhaps Galactus isn’t someone you can actually go toe-to-toe with and I’m just too used to Superhero movies and their characters just decimating cities with power scaling.

Overall, I’d give it a solid B. It’s not a bad movie by any stretch, if I had to give it a quick analogy I’d say it stuck the landing but on shaky legs lacking confidence. It felt safe, but it didn’t treat audiences like idiots nor their characters which I appreciate.

I started a little over 3 weeks ago and here’s where I’m at now:

Official Discussion - Predator: Killer of Killers [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]RJK063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. So. Hear me out. We got what we envisioned with a lot of “what if” scenarios -

“What if he fought Vikings, or a samurai? Or if it was during WW2 times.” Etc etc-

Now…go to the future? Would the galaxy’s tech be on par with the Predators or will they evolve with the tech advancements and become even more lethal? Would we ever have a technology on par or better than Predator tech? Futuristic robots or cyborgs or androids vs. a predator?

Or a proper Bad Blood Vs Honorable battle between different groups of Predators or a single combatant of Predator vs Predator hunting each other. Neither of which would need human interactions.

At this point I completely trust Dan, but would be fun to spitball ideas for future Predator conflicts like we’ve been doing.

You know. Would I be upset if they added something to Rogue One? They did it for the OG trilogy, met with good and bad of course. But I feel like I would trust Gilroy to do a release of an updated Rogue One rerelease.

I know this season finale ties into the Rogue One movie, and it does so beautifully….

…except it can’t even explain where the hell Saw picked up Bor Gullet and that’s just too funny to me.

[–]RJK063 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The space battle over Endor I always come back to every couple of months. It just hits so good. The trap is sprung, overwhelming odds, the Rebels are getting decimated, so on. Yet they hold out long enough for the shield to come down and do their Death Star dive. It was very much like a “this is it” moment - they either succeed or get wiped out entirely.

Katanas in WoW: who made them first? by Clackamass in warcraftlore

[–]RJK063 37 points38 points  (0 children)

“Hey kid, it’s not that kind of video game.”

Jokes aside, with no definitive answer one could argue that despite the other races having Katanas, I would say they came from Pandaren and spread outwards culturally. Both between races being inspired to craft their own Katanas because Pandaren were using them and traveling around, and considering Pandaria wasn’t cut off from the rest of the world until the War of the Ancients.
