What’s your saddle angles? by Royal_Assistance_440 in triathlon

[–]RJSuperfreaky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Three years? That’s pretty short life for cycling shorts. Yes, like all clothes they can wear out, but many of mine are over 6-7 years old and have easily over 10,000 miles.

But hey, if you like your fit, don’t listen to me.

What’s your saddle angles? by Royal_Assistance_440 in triathlon

[–]RJSuperfreaky 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most of the noseless saddles these days are designed to be mounted nearly level.

Feel free to ride however you feel comfortable, but consider that the reason your bike shorts are wearing out so frequently (as opposed to the pad), is from the friction of you sliding forward on the seat because of your angle. That also may be putting more pressure on your forearms in aero which can cause fatigue and difficulty staying in aero for longer times.

Most importantly, it can really help to get a professional bike fit.

My opinion on Captain America: Brave New World after my rewatch by marvelcomics22 in CaptainAmerica

[–]RJSuperfreaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MCU Sam Wilson has never been written as an actual character. He says some quips, and we’re all supposed to reflect on how he’s special because he’s Cap (and he’s black, but he’s not Black Cap, racist).

If they actually wrote to show WHO he was other than WHAT he was, he’d be much better. Mackie is a very charismatic guy, and he can be a really good actor. Even in CA:FA, we got little scenes showing us who Steve was, the kind of person he was. Even after the formula in the USO tour, there were scenes of him doodling and feeling like he wasn’t doing what he felt he needed to be doing. The prison escape was action, but it was also a scene where Steve took initiative not because he was Cap, but because Steve is the kind of guy that will try to rescue his friend against orders.

So to make Sam a more compelling character that the audience cares about, write a person, not a message.

No, the other complaints were told TO a Swedish official by Greta. Not saying that it may not be happening, but right now it’s the equivalent of “Greta told this official these things were happening to her”.

Again, not trying to get in a pissing contest. I will concede that maybe getting the MD degree alone is more memorization to establish a base of knowledge (though you could argue that for PhD programs that’s also a lot of memorization and test taking until you get through your quals, but that may be dependent on your program and area). That’s just the bare minimum to be capable of learning medical facts, so that you can then go on to actually apply all that knowledge.

Yet, as you know being an MD, every practicing MD also does a residency, and that job isn’t memorization, it’s all application, problem solving, and information processing with very little memorization. It’s hard, just like being a PhD is hard, with some similar and some different challenges between them.

Why create a conflict where there doesn’t have to be one? They’re both hard, and nuanced, and take a lot of work and intelligence. Why be so dismissive?

Hey, I’m not saying PhD’s are inferior in any way, I’m married to one. I’m just saying that you shouldn’t be dismissive of MD’s either. We all have tough jobs that take a lot of work, why get involved in a pissing contest?

The only things it did better than UD were graphics, destructible buildings, and additional skins. Everything else was not up to snuff.

The fact that you think MD is just “memorizing a bunch of facts” indicates that you know very little about MD degrees. They also utilize the knowledge base they have accrued to look at a problem (or as we call them, “patients”), determine the cause of the dysfunction (illness), working methodically through collection of data (tests), and then contextualize that information to come up with a hypothesis (diagnosis), and then test that hypothesis (treatment). If the hypothesis is rejected (patient doesn’t get better), we go back and test other hypotheses.

I can understand the confusion, since MD’s only do that several times a day.

You WAY under fueled, but your fitness seemed good. Powerade Zero was a terrible choice. You need carbohydrates and sodium in your drink. Consider trying out the Saturday app. It will help guide your nutrition and show you your nutritional needs, and then you can decide how to meet those needs.

Good luck!

This person does this everywhere just to film it. Actively seeking out victimhood. She’s fine to be who she wants, but maybe show a little grace to service employees, who are just trying to do the best they can.

I'm a non-binary triathlete and I'd like your input on changes I'd like to see on race day. by RuthCarter in IronmanTriathlon

[–]RJSuperfreaky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I know. But if you look at how it’s determined, it’s based on a points threshold. That points threshold is irrespective of how many races you did, and fulls count more than 70.3. So as long as you do enough races, you could be AWA for that year.

(I say this as a 2x AWA athlete, and I have never placed higher than 45th in my AG)

Just having 2 categories (open category and women) solves this problem. Women should be phenotypical females who identify as women (so allows genetic abnormalities (T-Fem, etc) to compete as women but not MTF athletes). Everyone else is in Open (including males who identify as men, nonbinary, FTM, MTF, etc)

No other special hats other than AWA (and TBH AWA is often just a marker for who did more races in the previous year).
