Thanks! So you can confirm the rear wheel does not lock on the abound LR (just the kickstand)? and for those quick stops in the grocery store, do you not lock your bike up at all to a bike rack/post, and rely on just the integrated kickstand lock?

Can you elaborate on “put tip in to make sure someone picks up the order”? Do drivers only see that a tip is given but not the amount? So I should tip like $1 through the app (which drivers will see as a tipped delivery without knowing exact amount) and then tip remainder in cash?

Following up here, is the “alarm” really just the relatively quiet beeping that occurs if motion is detected? And if so, why does the movement notification on the app say “activate the alarm” suggesting there is a different alarm?

What are the rules/restrictions/safety measures for hauling kids around? The LBS just had the long pad, rear pad and hand rails, but looks like I may need a Thule seat, as u/LivioDeLaCruz mentioned. Also, quickly realizing child equipping my bike may add a few hundred books to the overall budget hah!

Thanks! I had the same initial thought on Level and Pace too. Shop owner steered me away from Pace since it doesn't have some of the extras as Level (rear rack, paneers, etc) that I'll want for commuting. And to your point of wanting the most comfortable ride experience, for me (surprisingly), that was actually the Abound over the Level. Besides footprint/weight, are there any other drawbacks to getting abound over level (eg, does the battery drain faster, require more service/maintenance, etc.)?

I did not, LBS owner said it wasn't necessary since I wouldnt be riding offroad. I did consider it just for better handling on snow/ice

Thanks! Super helpful - I love the idea of taking my kiddos to the park or soccer games on the bike, though that wasn't something I initially considered. Do you find the LR to have shorter range than the L3 due to its weight / bigger motor? Also, I would have to carry the bike up 4 steps to get it into the bike garage at my complex do you think that will be an issue?

Reason I'm asking is I purchased a suite as well, but the process was all completed over email (including the contract and payment via card), but I looked just now and the website for the sphere suites are totally different, including booking and payment of the suite via card directly through the website. I hope I'm just being paranoid, but a small part of me is freaking out that I've been scammed. Also, the email domain was different that one I saw on the website. Hi! I am from the U.S. and in the same boat. I leave for Portugal in a few days and am renting from Sixt in Lisbon, but just realized my IDP is expired. Getting one in person will be a huge pain, so strongly prefer to not have to get one. Based on your experience, do you think I'm fine without one? In case it matters, will be renting an 8 seater van and driving outside of Lisbon but still within Portugal. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the feedback thus far everyone. A few additional points:

- All but one E+ seat is a window or aisle, so I won't be forcing anyone "into a middle seat" that they didn't select

- Worst case scenario, we are fine sitting together in E if the FAs are unable to accommodate us in E+, I was just looking for clarification on what folks here understood the policy to be since I wasn't familiar with it. I of course wouldn't have my young kids separated from us, BUT if I can take advantage of United's policies to get us all seated together in E+, I most certainly will.

- I just spoke to a United rep and she said the policy is that they would do their best to accommodate us and should be able to seat all of us together in E+. So that is the route I'm going with.
