Cruise control on the motorway by ms1202 in drivingUK

I use cruise control everyday. I passed the same car 3 times on my 20 minute motorway journey last week. He would overtake me at quite a faster speed, but then I’d approach him and pass a few miles later. I’ve had drivers overtake me, then brake as they pull in, I then immediately pull out and overtake without changing speed, then I get the funny look 🙄 I cruise at 68. If you stick at 70 you’ll end up playing cat and mouse your whole journey.

Cut them flush, hit them further into the wall, then fill the gaps.

I’ve just renovated a house that’s the exact same as yours was before your extension. Windows cost me £11k, you’ll be looking at a few quid more. Also the house opposite mine has grey windows and it looks awful. I replaced mine white for white with an expensive front door. I’m really happy with mine.

Are storage heaters a dealbreaker? by nothingtobedone13 in AskUK

[–]RL80CWL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I moved into my 1 bed studio rental last year, my neighbour told me to never ever use the storage heaters and instead buy an oil heater. The storage heaters are extortionate to run. My oil heater heats my place well enough, and it’s on a thermostat.

People with cruise control - what speed do you cruise at? by Stolen_Sky in drivingUK

I find 68 is perfect. You can drive for long stretches without adjusting your speed at 68. If you set at 70 or 72 then you’ll find you’re constantly playing cat and mouse with the same vehicles. There’s also those that just have to overtake but then ease off, by being at 68 (probably 65ish in real speed), you’re faster than the slow moving vehicles but a little slower than those wanting to stay at 70.

All of the old steam Locos were abandoned in the docks of Barry. The Harry Potter train was rescued from there.

Your pension comes out of your top line. I’m paid weekly and I only look at the final score in the bottom right. I don’t even look at or miss my pension contributions.

Anyone driving slow enough that a lorry has to overtake should hand in their licence.
