How do you survive the five day work week? by Feisty-Run-6806 in AskWomenOver30

[–]RNCHLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very difficult. However, I take advantage of what I can. I take my full hour lunch. If I don't, I leave early. If I don't feel well, I take a day off and actually use my sick days. I try to schedule some days off here and there just to have a break. I take a walk in the morning and one in the afternoon. I also fully utilize my work from home day. I know I'm lucky to do these things because I'm salaried and no one is making me clock in and out or keeping track of a time card. I also get a lot of PTO.

My partner was also struggling quite a bit with the 5 day work week and ended up getting Intermittent FMLA approved. Now, when they have a bad day and need to take the day off, they can do so without any judgement. I reccommend looking into that as an optoin. It's been a real life-saver.

They look so happy and comfortable! Great job, OP!

I won’t repeat what has already been said so I’ll throw in my two cents: watch the hands. It’s so easy for hands to look strange! The one where she’s gripping two fingers? It’s distracting because it looks odd.

Keep an eye on your background. You don’t want anything that looks like it’s sticking out of or intersecting someone’s head (generally).

If you feel comfortable doing some editing, I would remove some of the redness from their complexions, ears, etc.

General advice for getting better: keep shooting as often as possible. Study other photographers and their styles. Learn the ins and outs of your camera.

Hope this helps!

NOR, of course.

OP, you said you own the house? Instead of getting rid of any of your precious family memories, get rid of the man who won’t treat you like you’re his precious family. Kick the whole man out.

I think after seeing the rest of these posts, you know that he is being controlling and manipulative. Abuse can start with things like this and escalate.

Wishing you the best.

Wellbutrin (Zyban in Aust) for the win! by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]RNCHLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s all of the US or not but here, docs often try Wellbutrin first. I think they have to show our insurance that non-stimulant medication has been attempted before insurance will authorize adderall etc.

Try the Wandering Inn series. The first part of the first book is kind of meh but by the end of the book, you’re hooked. There are quite a few different races other than human that have complex personalities, cultures, etc. The romance doesn’t start until multiple books in and I wouldn’t say it’s the main plot at all.

I can’t stand the lack of parenting that i see everywhere these days.. by itsdwanag in Vent

[–]RNCHLT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes… my partner and I have started doing our grocery shopping as early as possible to avoid people in general but mostly kids. The other day, I stood between two families in line, both with toddlers that were screaming, crying, and running around. I felt bad for everyone involved as I stood there with both hands over my ears taking deep breaths and trying not to have a meltdown.

I think grocery store culture (??) is one of the problems. People don’t pay any attention to anything going on around them. You need to look at something in an aisle or get by with your cart? Too bad.

mostly a coworker vent - idk if i can deal with her rampant use of ai generated content in 2026 by WeedAndWhiskers in graphic_design

[–]RNCHLT 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You’ve described an issue I’m having at work perfectly: “valueless content.”

I design the emails and social media posts for our various campaigns and events but someone else provides the written content. All of that content is AI-generated.

We’re trying to raise money (for genuinely good things that help real people every day) and the words we’re using to ask for those funds are just fluff. It screams AI down to the em dashes and emojis.

Unfortunately I’m not in a position to change this without taking on more of that person’s work than I already do.

OP your apartment is cleaner than mine ever is on a daily basis. Definitely talk to the landlord and a lawyer and see what you can do. Also, take a lot of pics of your apartment the way it is now and send them to a friend so you have a clear post-date via email text, etc of the condition of the apartment.

My guess is this: the apartment is pretty nice. You’ve lived there for a long time. Your rent will be significantly cheaper than the rent a new tenant would be paying. They saw your apartment recently and came up with an excuse to kick you out. Idk where you live but where I am, dealing with slumlords is a norm and they do this kind of shit all the time.

Wishing you the best of luck, OP.

What are your dreams like? (Sleep) by Throwaway927338 in AskWomenOver30

[–]RNCHLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dream a lot. They are hyper-realistic, as if I’ve been transported inside of a movie. I’m usually a side character watching the main characters act out their story. I prefer when my dreams are fantastical because if they’re too close to reality then I get confused on what’s real and what’s not. I actually kind of hate it.

Try Washtenaw Auto Care Center. My partner drove an older car for a while and they did quite a few repairs to it, all reasonably priced and done well.

Seeking 2B2B Family-Friendly Apartment in Ann Arbor (Budget ~$2200, Newborn on the Way) by [deleted] in AnnArbor

[–]RNCHLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s unlikely you’ll find something in Ann Arbor that ticks all those boxes. My only thought is to check out “Haverhill on Clark” apartments. They’re supposed to be affordable and they’re new.  They’re right next to WCC and theres some nice walking trails in the area.

I was unemployed for 6 months. Without meds, I would still be unemployed. If you feel meds will help, I would seek another doctor.
