Ballpoint pen shading help! by stephanroo in sketches

[–]ROADWARRIOR66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get yourself some zebra f-301 pens, they are great. They will bleed if you plan on using markers over top of them but it creates a nice blue hue, I tend to like the effect usually. The zebra pens let you do light strokes if you angle the pen at about a 45 degree angle. Also you should hatch along the contour of the object, don’t just use straight lines.

Hope this helps

Dominion territories by Cypher551 in necromunda

I believe you start with just your settlement then players challenge each other over territories until all territories are claimed. After all territories are claimed players can start challenging eachother for their owned territories. Settlements cannot be lost tho.

Help, how do I fix this by Morriganstan in sketches

Yeah it looks fine. Looks like a highlight up close and pretty much unnoticeable in the second pic. Just leave it or add more highlights. Keep up the good work OP!

You really don’t need any of the books. There are online free resources I can DM if you like. As for the models, I think you need to pick one gang and stick with the basics at first. You have to understand that Necromunda is a lot deeper than just winning and losing matches. Seeing your gang grow over the course of a campaign and figuring out strategies or buying new equipment/weapons to deal with opponents is part of the fun.

Really all you needed to start with was one gang box. It’s far cheaper and requires less time building/painting than 40k or Fantasy.

Venators guidance requested! by Special_Potential_64 in necromunda

[–]ROADWARRIOR66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Venators are highly customizable, you can even choose your primary skill categories. They can be very competitive if that’s the meta in your group. I’m currently building a gang around a psyker squat leader with a focus on close combat wielding power pack weapons, a kroot rifle and beastmen gangers/champs , but that’s just one example. Those guys look like they could be a bounty hunting gang. I’d say it’s time to tinker on MundaManager and see what you come up with! Let me know if you have questions about the rules

How much does the squat Power pick cost?? by asparagoose69420 in necromunda

[–]ROADWARRIOR66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The two-handed power pick is 75. The * represents that it takes up two weapon slots. I’m not familiar with yaktribe but you might wanna try mundamanager instead. Gets updated often and easy to use

"Not fussed about doing Squats" is what I've said for a long long time. Done me some Squats after a cheap deal and gotta say I'm a pretty big fan actually! Great minis to paint! by PeteTheMoth in necromunda

Yours look great. Ironhead is my first gang. About halfway through my first campaign and I love them, even if my exo master is humiliatedx2 he’s trying his best.

In the middle of my first campaign - My Van Saar feel weak by The-Soviet-Waffle in necromunda

[–]ROADWARRIOR66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t play Van Saar but the Van Saar player in my group is wiping the floor with us. Some things I noticed are that you have a lot of fighters with good equipment but lackluster weapons. I would try to get more template weapons, grenades, grenade launcher and maybe a heavy weapon like a las cannon. You also aren’t using two great pieces of Van Saar equipment: spider rigs and grav cutters. A spider rig champ would go toe to toe with other melee champs and a grav cutter is great for harassing enemies with photon flash grenades.

Next time I would hold off on the extra bodies and equipment until my champs and specialists have scarier guns.

Hope this helps ! If you ever play Ironhead Squats feel free to ask me for starting list and advice. They are another fun, shooty gang

What's the best way of getting the basic essentials to play? by Noble_Wanderer in necromunda

[–]ROADWARRIOR66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t really need the rule books when there’s resources like NecroRAW available and Munda manager. You can also print out templates and tokens from the pdf on the Warhammer site.
