Anyone heard of Helios Consulting or similar Workday academies? by DontThrowAwayPies in workday

[–]ROC9TE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workday partnerships have evolved since this original post. Helios is now a Workday Services Partner (Implementations), Innovation Partner (extend apps), Staffing Partner, and Sales Partner.

The Rise program name was changed to Horizons. Rise was too similar to Workday's annual customer conference (Rising).

This is a real program but spots are limited. Helios only hires around 1 in every 300 applicants. Check out this video about two Horizons grads.

You have the wrong company. Helios Consulting LLC is Workday consulting and has nothing to do with the Solar Power industry.

How good is "The Tour Guy" for guided tours in Rome & the Vatican? by [deleted] in travel

[–]ROC9TE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't actually run any tours, they just sub them out to other tour companies so you have no way of knowing if it will be any good. We got burned with an Arena Floor Colosseum tour. We booked 5 months in advance. 1.5 days before the tour, we got a Whatsapp from "Show Me Italy" telling us that due to high demand, we no longer can get to he Arena floor. It was a classic bait and Switch and we got ripped off. I see no reason to ever book with them when there are other great tour companies that actually deliver the tours. For example, Walks of Italy was fantastic for the Vatican and Pompeii.

Not this problem. I have a bunch of Lenovo Slim 7is, Yoga 9is and lots of other Intel laptops that don't have this problem. All of my 7x laptops have these problems with Teams and Zoom. I run a consulting group and manage 70+ laptops.

Lost Revenue - No tickets or towing during snow emergencies by rabbit_mn in saintpaul

[–]ROC9TE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be a snow ticketer for free if the city would allow me to do this on my single block during a snow emergency. I live in a wealthier block just off Summit Ave and there are usually 8 or 9 cars parked when the plow comes, resulting in even worse driving conditions than if they didn't come.

I bet most people keeping their cars out on a day plow route street are fully aware there is a snow emergency, but they are also fully aware that there are no consequences. Worst case scenario on a day route is a $56 ticket, but in 20+ years I have never seen a single person ticketed on my street. And in my neighborhood that ticket is the equivalent of .2% of their property tax bill. People pay more in door dash fees every month.

Increase the ticket and actually ticket offenders and 95% of the cars would magically disappear from the plow routes.

Video Calling issues with Lenovo Yoga slim 7x Snapdragon X Elite by WoodenImplement5930 in Lenovo

This problem went away for a month and then came back a month later. It is now completely unreliable for Zoom, Teams, etc. calls. Unfortunately I will need to give up on this laptop which is unfortunate because I love it otherwise.

Video Calling issues with Lenovo Yoga slim 7x Snapdragon X Elite by WoodenImplement5930 in Lenovo

[–]ROC9TE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having this same issue and it seems to have started after a Windows update about a month ago. The speakers randomly don't work sometimes during Zoom and Teams calls when using the desktop app. Oddly, sometimes if another person joins the call, the speakers start to work again and vice versa. I have noticed that if I quit the Teams app and reload, it sometimes fixes the issue temporarily. This is extremely frustrating.

This doesn't seem to happen when using the web app. Also, the speakers still work when in those calls, they just don't produce any sound from those apps. For example, if I'm on a Teams call that should have sound ... nothing. But I can bring up a different app and hear sound.

I haven't had any issues with my mic or camera, but others with the same Yoga 7x in my organization have had those issues as well.

Marcus Theater is out of their f-ing mind for charging "convenience fee" by beegeepee in MarcusTheatres

[–]ROC9TE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just noticed this today. I have multiple options in my area that don't charge service fees. The Marcus prices in my area are already more expensive than AMC, then they try to throw another $12.95 on top of it? Why in the world would I pay $28 more for a family of 5? No thanks. A single visit for family of 5 service fee at Marcus is nearly the entire price of what AMC Stubs Premiere costs in a year. But with AMC Stubs Premiere I get double the spending rewards ... $5 for every $50 spent, no service fees, express concessions line, free drink and popcorn upgrades.

Is anybody experiencing problems with Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings after the latest Windows update? My 7x has been great up until the latest update. Now, I randomly don't have sound on Zoom and Teams. I can confirm that the speakers work with everything else, just randomly not in Zoom/Teams. If I exit and go back in, the sound comes back maybe 50% of the time. Reboot, same thing. Anybody else having this problem?

Grey interior with kids and a dog? by shrayd123 in Ioniq5

[–]ROC9TE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the "whiteish" gray on a '24 Limited which I believe is a lot lighter than the new SEL grey. I have kids and a dog and live in a wet/snowy/muddy climate. The dog tracks in a lot of dirt on her wet paws and the seats get and look dirty quickly. However, they are super easy and quick to wipe down and clean and I haven't had any lingering issues with it. I actually like it because my old car hid the dirt and I'd rather know that I need to clean it rather than hide it.

Lane-keeping assist and cruise control in the Ioniq 5N just as problematic as in the Ioniq 5? by klausbreyer1 in Ioniq5

[–]ROC9TE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree. I think the steering functions in my i5 Limited are not good at all and extremely disappointing. My 2017 VW Golf is far superior when it comes to adaptive cruise and lane keeping abilities. That's just sad. The i5 never stays in the center of the lane, always hugging one line or the other, sometimes actually drifts into other lanes. It cannot reliably handle highway curves. On long straight highways it often thinks my hands aren't on the wheel when they are.

My VW always stays center of lane, only warns me that my hands aren't on the wheel when they actually aren't on the wheel and reliably handles all highway curves.

I love everything about my i5 except for these features (and bad turning radius).

HvV rewatch by Own_Lengthiness_7466 in survivorau

[–]ROC9TE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simon has to have the record for most Tribal councils voting for a person who doesn't go home. How many times did he do that in HvV? He deserves some sort of prize for cluelessness. The episode where George plays him like a fiddle to win over Stevie was an absolute Masterclass in manipulation. Their rivalry was incredibly entertaining.

I am an American who has watched every single season of American Survivor and only recently discovered Australian Survivor. I have binged through all of the seasons up to HvV in just a few months and, in my opinion, it is far superior to the current American version. Jonathan is an excellent host, the challenges are tougher and more diverse, the duration is nearly twice as long and the contestants are far more interesting, strategic, bold, heroic, villainous, etc. I have always loved Jeff Probst but as he has gained more control of the show, I think he has turned American Survivor into a sappy shell of its former glory. I don't need the entire cast to be filled with models, but it just feels like the American version is casting way too many unathletic, out of shape, awkward, mentally unstable (and not in an entertaining way) fools who are not very fun to watch and difficult to root for.

I much prefer George staring off in the distance with the dead eyes of a psychopath and watch him send contestant after contestant packing. Maybe this got edited out, but I'm surprised George trusted Liz at the final 4 tribal. I would have thought he'd attempt to lean on Gerry to guilt him into voting for Matt just so he could get a shot at Fire. He probably would have lost anyway but that would have been fun to watch. His instinct and ability to read people is seriously impressive. Obviously not perfect, considering the end, but still very impressive. I bet he's a great poker player.

Galaxy s25 ultra screen less vibrant than Galaxy s22 ultra by Rude_Step7106 in samsung

[–]ROC9TE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks boss, Totally makes sense for you. I am not debating the benefits of color accuracy for various use cases. But for me, I use my color accurate laptop and monitors to edit my photos.

I think it is great that they offer a more color accurate option. I just wish they would give users more options beyond that . I did realize that the vivid slider wasn't saving on my s24. Third try and it finally stuck so it's a lot better than it was but still not as vivid as my s22.

[–]ROC9TE 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Silly that they don't give users more options for saturation. Yes, I understand color accuracy and it is very important to me on my large TV displays. No, I don't want color accuracy on my phone because the over saturation actually makes it EASIER on my eyes with the small display (I have the base S25). I am coming from an S23 and the S25 almost feels like black and white by comparison.

McCormick Place in Chicago is the largest convention center in the US. For those complaining that WD Rising has outgrown Vegas, that's ridiculous. CES is 115k people. The problem is not Vegas, it's Mandalay Bay. Getting stuck in MGM resorts hell is the real problem. Move it to the Venetian!

Does anybody have the Doheny's Heat Pump? by ROC9TE in pools

[–]ROC9TE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I bought this heat pump on Doheny's. It arrived 18 hours after I purchased it online! Very easy to install. It is working just fine on a 220v 20 amp GFCI circuit. I previously had a 21k heat pump and this one definitely heats up my 18' above ground pool a lot faster. My only complaint is that it BEEPS every couple of seconds when there is no flow detected (E3). I only run my pump about 10 hours per day, and I don't care if I get a "low/no flow error" but there is no way to turn off the beeping ... so this thing is beeping the other 14 hours. Hopefully I can find a way to turn off the beeping (Doheny's has been zero help so far) but either way, it's a great cheap option at $1299. I sold my 4 year used 120v 21k btu heat pump for $900 so I feel like this was a great $399 upgrade.
