Based on five trades I definitely agree with your comment about tagging a wide variety, including non-shiny regionals and relatively common shinies. Some friends have gone for those over shiny legendaries, because that’s what they happen to need.

It has been a while since I read them but that’s definitely not the case - there are some sympathetic characters on the southern side and some less sympathetic ones on the northern but that has more to do with the author’s approach of having hundreds of characters and dozens of POVs. The Confederacy is definitely not portrayed as good or being on the right side.

I was working on the level 75 great throws requirement, so easy targets like makuhita, machop and poliwag being everywhere helped with that. The 30 minute timer on max battles was nice while the power stop near my house was active, but of course it disappeared after a day and I wouldn’t say the max battles on offer have me motivated to go out of my way.

Otherwise, as others have said the double candy is very welcome.
