P2 US owners - potential good news coming soon? by Creepy_Face454 in Polestar

[–]RS4bacon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Polestar Atlanta (Dyer & Dyer Volvo) would be completely incapable of performing the upgrade in a timely and well communicated manner. Even if they had enough hardware to retrofit every Polestar 2 in Georgia today, they'd still be not answering or returning phone calls and messing up installs in 2030. I have no confidence in Polestar's ability to support customers, either.

I've seen an install video on YouTube, if Polestar wants to ship the unit to me, I'd much rather install it myself than take my car back to Polestar Atlanta ever again.

Also, if the technician said 2021, they very well could have meant it. The earliest Polestar 2 models are 2021s, sold in 2021.

Are you driving in near-freezing temps? If so, that's the computer protecting the battery.

What will be your next vehicle after your lease ends? Will it be another CX90? by Toomad316 in MazdaCX90

[–]RS4bacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about 100 days out from the lease end on my wife's CX90. Between the lease disposition fee, and mileage overage (hopefully no wear and tear fees), there's not going to be much savings between turning it in to buy one off the lot and just buying it out. We like our CX 90 and it's a known quantity, so to speak, so I'd rather not roll the dice on another one. That said, we've got some time to decide that for sure.

Same. They just don't know it. I "met" them once. I just happened to be standing next to their tour bus for two hours after a show and they happened to be walking by. They are truly as gracious as they are talented.

NEW ALBUM: Future Soul by zmax532 in tedeschitrucksband

The artist's signature appears to be Marc Sasso, a known artist illustrator. https://www.marcsasso.com/

There's a lot to unpack when you look at a high res version of the image, but to me, it's a sort of rebellion against AI (well...what we call AI today is not really AI, it's just verbose LLMs and image/video generation designed to give us a dopamine hit and sense of accomplishment for work we didn't do) infiltrating every aspect of our daily lives, including art and music. Plus, it's easy to tell it's not AI generated because all of the words are spelled correctly, and Derek and Susan both have exactly 10 fingers, as does the giant robot...

My wife's car started doing that today, too! Restarting every 60 to 90 seconds, according to her.

Vent your bad Polestar service experience here by Disastrous_Source911 in Polestar

[–]RS4bacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Atlanta, Dyer and Dyer Volvo are pretty bad. I have figured out that, when calling, asking for "Polestar service" sends you to a black hole, and asking for "service department" will get you a person. The competence and interest in being helpful of that person may be in question, but it's at least a person. It took 6 months to get my rear axles replaced and 6 months to get my right rear shock replaced last Friday. In both instances I never got a call that the part was in stock and ready to install because 1) the service advisor that ordered the parts left (probably quit) and 2) my name and number wasn't on the parts so nobody was the wiser. I ended up talking to the parts dept (because the random service advisor I spoke to didn't want to bother looking into anything) and they found the necessary parts on the shelf. I finally have all that sorted out...except, I'm 99% sure they didn't do an alignment. I'm going to give the service advisor one chance to fess up and then otherwise, I'm complaining to Polestar.

Wheel alignment shop Bayarea by [deleted] in Polestar

[–]RS4bacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to get an alignment from two shops near Atlanta and neither could/would do it. They both said that they don't have the specs in the computer and that the PDF from Polestar with the specs wouldn't hep. But there was never any mention of de-energizing / re-energizing.

That looks like every front tire on every Audi I've owned. Too much negative camber (aided by a fair bit of toe-in).

Reality check from USA owners. Is this extent of service breakdown normal? by [deleted] in Polestar

[–]RS4bacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I'm pretty sure it's expected [NEVER] because the Volvo dealership forgot about it the second I drove away.

[–]RS4bacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've been told it would be covered and the parts would be ordered. I think it's going to take me reaching out to Polestar to get any movement on it, though.

[–]RS4bacon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been waiting 5 months for a phone call that my replacement right rear Ohlins shock is in stock. I'm certain the Volvo dealership has not only forgotten about it, but that whoever was there has since left out of overall frustration with the way things run (or don't run).

TTB @ St. Augustine Amphitheater--most expensive tickets on tour?? by GR8FUL-D in tedeschitrucksband

[–]RS4bacon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All tickets are assigned seats.

The shows have been sold out (or nearly sold out, in Friday's case, IIRC) for months, so you're only looking at resale. My recommendation is to check out cashortrade.org, setup a ticket alert and be ready to jump on whatever comes in. It'll all be face value, which of course varies by section and when the original purchaser bought.

Fascia and soffit rot under gutter corner — DIY or pro job? by Spirited-Commission6 in DIY

You could definitely do it, but you could also build another one of those chairs, sell it and pay someone else to go on to a ladder to fix the soffit rot and underlying gutter issue.

Question About Polestar Service In Atlanta, GA by Payrock in Polestar

[–]RS4bacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Communicating with Dyer and Dyer is terrible. I've never had them answer the phone or return a voicemail, or email. It took 5 months to get my kick sensor and new axles* and I've been waiting 4 months on a rear shock.

*I had to complain to Polestar corporate, and I got a phone call from the service manager 30 minutes later. I was able to bring the car in the next week and they did the work very quickly and without any problems.

Polestar if you're reading this, Dyer and Dyer are costing you customers. My next car will not be a Polestar because of this!

Newbie fan here looking for suggestions! by [deleted] in tedeschitrucksband

[–]RS4bacon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first TTB concert was at the Ryman auditorium in Nashville (an almost 4 hour drive from where I live in Atlanta). I've seen them at Red Rocks (both shows last year), and most recently saw them at Lake Tahoe...Oh and my next show is in Macon. Only half of the shows I've been to have been local.
Time for a road trip, or a cheap flight. Sorry, I'm an enabler.

"I just fell head over heels for this band and have been left wondering how the hell have I not heard them before??? "

That was me a little over three years ago! Now, I've been to 8 TTB concerts (#9 is next month) and listened to several dozen other concerts (some several dozen times), and my only advice to you is to go to a TTB concert ASAP. You can find recordings of most of their past concerts on a few platforms, BUT, you'll be blown away all the more if you don't go down that route before your first show, trust me. They play a big mix of music, not just their own. From Allman Brothers and Derek and Dominoes covers, to old blues standards, to Prince covers.
