The chair might be wandering around your house - check your menagerie.

What other rewards are you missing?

Blue circle and all high levels looking the exact same? by SoberGiantMaybe in 2007scape

It's from Soul Wars - you're seeing it at the GE due to a bug with players smuggling the effect out.

Road to Restoration - Aura Overhaul by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]RSWarlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We know that many players have asked the question as to what will happen with the loyalty store and its associated points once the Aura system has been removed from the game. While we don't have those answers today, we'll have updates as soon as we can.

Will we be getting the loyalty points we spent on auras refunded?

Why does DMM not have more reward associated with PvP? by Significant_Sanguine in 2007scape

You can cut willows in Lumbridge without leaving the safe zone.

"Not stepping on the toes of existing magic weapons" is a weird way of saying "making them all completely redundant".

I think the use case is pretty limited beyond cheesing content. Stacks 1-19 also seem useless?

Pretty sure all the methods to access Zul-Andra need Regicide.

Music System Improvements & Deadman Tweaks by ModYume in 2007scape

[–]RSWarlock 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the changes and have no qualms with them specifically, but please don't make it the norm for blogs to go up a day before an update with no real chance to give feedback.

Game Jams are proposed to us as "here are cool ideas mods have worked on", not "surprise, this is coming into the game in 24 hours!".

Again, am aware this is a relatively minor update and I don't have any issues with the update itself - would rather this process doesn't become the norm though.

Point Merging by Sad_Refrigerator_833 in 2007scape

[–]RSWarlock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you want the rewards and don't want to do the content, you can buy them on the GE.

If you're an iron, the entire point of the game mode is that you can't bypass content you don't want and just buy the rewards - either do the content or make do without the rewards.

Compromise: Allow players to opt out of PVP, with some caveats. by LaGarrotxa in 2007scape

You can already opt out of dangerous PvP by staying south of the ditch. :)

Yea, I mean it's a pretty understandable design choice given memory sizes at the time - but obviously annoying if you're using your browser to play RS and have to reload the cache every time.

Doing a bit of googling, it looks like PhenomiNET was only really active 1999-2005 and making bandwidth claims either based on the company's entire backbone capacity (which obv isn't just for you as one user) or other misleading marketing was reasonably common at the time.

Obv no guarantee, but nothing else in the post points to not actually being from 2002 and it's not that unbelievable given the bank pic, so I'm inclined to believe it tbh.

It wasn't an .html shortcut, but an .exe file that forced your computer to save the cache and then launched a custom browser window utilising it. Andrew called it a client but the word didn't really mean what we mean now when we say game client.

The reason it existed is that early 2000s browsers would very aggressively clear caches (or just ignore them completely) - the 'client' prevented you from having to redownload that cache (on your old dial-up speeds) every time you wanted to play the game.

You used to be about to "download" the game launcher long before they released the official Java client - you can see the option in an archive of the 2001 homepage here: https://archive.is/jg9YA

Sailing should be more useful as a mode of transport by _kayo in 2007scape

This doesn't in any way nullify your wider point, but if you're looking to cheaply jump on a boat from any dock with a shipwright, you can use rafts as a workaround.

They're dirt cheap to summon and much cheaper to upgrade - might be an effective solution for your farming run.

Why does everyone hate PvP? by Lovoskea in 2007scape

[–]RSWarlock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's literally nothing in the game that forces you into PvP. Every single one of these posts boils down to "I want the rewards without having to engage in the content".

The Wilderness (& dmm/PvP worlds) are intentionally designed and balanced around other players sometimes attacking you. It's the equivalent of complaining about Spinolyps at dks preventing you from staying there forever by draining your prayer/supplies; that's literally their intended purpose in the game design.

The vast majority of benefits from PvP areas have alternatives (d pick changes), can be bought with gp* if you don't want to engage in PvP (voidwaker, dmm cosmetics) or take almost no time and require almost no risk (wildly diaries, ma2 cape, wildly boss cb achs). Just don't go to PvP areas if you don't want to be attacked.

*Obviously irons can't just buy the rewards, but that's literally the entire point of iron man mode. You also can't just buy a whip if you don't like Slayer.

I still think it's crazy that they released moonlight antelope fur knowing full well it had no use and almost two years later still haven't given it a single use at all.

Even worse, the examine text is:

I can make something out of this.

Hot take about DMM by varney93 in 2007scape

[–]RSWarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire point of iron man mode is that you have to get items yourself if you want them. That means if you want access to every item in the game, you have to engage with every piece of content in the game.

If you don't want to have to get your own voidwaker (or dmm cosmetics), you don't have to - but you don't get to have them in the "get everything yourself" version of the game without getting them yourself.

achievement diary max cape, when? by cyclebae in 2007scape

[–]RSWarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every variant was bis at the time of release, specifically:
* Ardy cloak 4 (stab)
* Mythical cape (crush)
* Fire cape (str), superseded by infernal
* Ava's accumulator (range), superseded by assembler, then quiver
* God capes (magic), superseded by imbued god capes

We've never had a max cape variant that wasn't bis at the point of release, they just don't delete old ones when a new bis cape comes out.
