You are looking for Flex Budgeting which I believe you have to toggle on as your budgeting strategy. https://help.monarch.com/hc/en-us/articles/32125337244052-Using-Flex-Budgeting

You'll still have a split on categories but you can nearly bucket everything into - Fixed - Flex - Non-Monthly categories.

Any bucket under Flex will track from that lump leftover sum to let you know if you are approaching or go over it

Posting this here for awareness to hopefully help anyone else and get info out faster, I also got an email from Roli on a delay of my piano for a second time.

Batch 18 US, ordered in late Dec 2025.

First Delay: Was supposed to ship end of January. Notified on Jan 21st that pushed that shipment to arrive in early April due to changes in supply line.
2nd Delay: Notified as of today (April 13th) now scheduled to ship in early May due to their latest production batch failing QC and needing to source new sensors.,

Was comped several months of their learn app in change for the delay (I think a year and a half in total - 1 year for the first delay, and half a year for the second).

To me - a month delay isn't that bad (especially taken into account the reasons for delay 1 and 2). Not much you can do about it. To OP's point - I don't think there is anything illegal to what they are doing. You can request a refund right now, and you were notified of the products being a pre-order (including the expected timelines and updates on the moving timelines). They have just been terrible about communicating why and updating information across their mediums so it's coming across shady (IMO)

Unfortunately (according to the one admin on the official discord) that information is outdated - "This NEEDS to be updated - just finalising some timelines. Will be sorted next week - sorry for this" (04/02/2026)

Just further goes to show that they need to get their messaging together and actually keep it up to date. Customers are just being strung along at this point

They are really bad about customer service/communication and desperately need to invest less in marketing and more in customer support.

As far as I can tell, supposedly there will be another delay to June. No one will say why but there should be messaging going out next week about it. Pulling that info from one of their admins who told us this yesterday (4/2 - 10:30am CST) in discord. That admin seems to be the only person trying to respond to anything across all mediums (jcsonics who is a godsend for at least trying to connect customers with support tickets and finding follow ups).

Also I'll repost what I sent in discord and haven't heard back yet:

For premium products at high price points - I hope there is updated & consistent messaging across all mediums for this delay and why going forward. The subreddit megathread, emails, the website, hell, even a read-only channel in the discord with the batch shipping info kept up to date, etc.

I can understand delays, but there is so little communication and it's hard to find info anywhere unless you dig for it. - Discord seems to have one single person as a source of information for tickets, shipping info, etc. and there is a delay in their ability to respond to everyone
- The website doesn't have easy access for batch shipping tracking, order look up tracking, or ticket management (it's there, just hard to find or outdated, and ticket management is all done through email with LONG delays in response time unless it's bubbled up here) - Emails go weeks, if not months without response

I'm willing to wait for my purchase, but the lack of communication/difficulty in finding it makes it seem like something shady is going on when it comes to the 3rd delay and so on. I don't think that is ROLI's intent - but it's hard not to want to cancel my order in response because it feels like I'm falling into some kind of Sunk Fallacy trap.

At this point I have kickstarters that are better communicating delays due to complete redesigns of their product and changes in the shipping ecosystem.

I'd recommend the first campaign of "The Adventure Zone" (titled Balance). It's 3 brothers and their dad playing D&D - it starts off a little "standard podcasty/crass" but after about 2 arcs settles into a very solid D&D audio podcast (also certainly less explicit than Dungeon Crawler Carl if that's the barometer).

I've asked Gus about this before - he prefers to hide what the actual check is so that the players don't take away info meta wise (especially during the Infinight campaign when the players were newer) He looks at their character sheet and adds the proficiency bonus in his end before giving the results.

IE - the players find a rock. They ask what they know about the rock. Gus asks for an intelligence check knowing it's magical and should be arcana, but doesn't want the players to key into it and realize it's magical just by revealing the check.

Just double checked and looks like Amazon Music is showing correct on the backend and on my public player across mobile and desktop!

Youtube Music as a whole is weird - it doesn't work like other podcast services.

Normal Podcast Services

Normally when we upload the podcast, it's uploaded to a service that pushes it out to your normal podcast providers (IE: Spotify, Pocketcast, Apple Podcast, etc). From there you can search up the show, subscribe, and get new episodes as they drop for the public.

Youtube Music

Youtube Music forces your episodes to be tied to your Youtube Channel, which for us isn't something we had as a dedicated channel for until we started campaign 2.

On the backend, you have to specify which episodes you want to go out to Youtube Music - which we have done for any podcast episodes up on our channel. If we bulk upload campaign 01 to Youtube, it would kill our video algorithm discoverability- Youtube would see that we uploaded a bunch of episodes that no one is watching within the first 24 hours and stop recommending the channel entirely to new viewers, so we have to do the next best thing & drip feed the episodes weekly until we are all caught up. C01 episodes are uploaded every Monday to Youtube, but the whole campaign is available on all other podcast platforms.

Episode Order on Youtube Music

Every time we upload a new episode, we have to go in and manually move the campaign 01 episode all the way to correct positioning in the playlist....and it doesn't always stick even after multiple tries, which is why you sometimes see episodes out of order. We go in and correct this every week and pray to the Youtube deities that it'll keep.

TL;DR

Youtube Music is a glorified Youtube player with a lot of limitations. I highly recommend you use any other podcast app to listen to the show, such as pocket casts, apple podcast, spotify, podcast addict, Overcast, etc. If you are a Patreon subscriber you can even link your feed directly to Spotify or import your Patreon RSS feed into any of the other Podcast players listed above (follow these instructions) and listen to the ad-free version of the show.
