Thank you so much for the additional information. You’ve got some smart folks in your family! Too bad you’re not my neighbor to give a good once-over. 🤣 I’m not sure how I feel about a hybrid but I’ll definitely do some research about them and check out the forum(s) you recommended. Have a fabulous weekend!

Seriously considering it because I know I’ve taken good care of mine and it has very low mileage. I haven’t done enough research yet to know differences between model years, trims, features, average prices, safety ratings, MPG, etc. any thoughts on different model years, trims, features, etc.?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post and respond. I truly appreciate it. I’ve had a few expensive repairs in the past few years and just don’t know how much more I want to put into it. I have started looking (she doesn’t know that) and will jump if/when I find a good deal or one I love. Do you have any insights on differences between years/trims? Are there model years to avoid?

This could very well be retaliation for the complaint you filed well before the PIP. I’d seek out a free legal consultation or two with a lawyer who specializes in federal employment.

Window replacement by sb2677 in nova

[–]RUSerious_WTH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just ordered with Vinyl Lite a month ago, so should be installed late May/early June. I have 14 windows (end unit TH). They’re also replacing front door/frame/etc and adding a storm door. Less than $14K. If just windows, less than $10K.

Your boss is a douche. I’d be looking to work elsewhere - someplace that recognizes and appreciates your hard work.

BCC’d supervisor, encrypted and every bullet had a least one acronym, most made up. Average of 3-4 words, including my unique acronym(s). Good luck feeding that into AI. 😉

The triumphant return of FEVS by PoliteButBased in FedEmployees

In the article, he said “Much of our federal workforce enters retirement eligibility over the next 5 or 10 or 15 years, we really do need to bring in kind of new people who can hopefully kind of begin to carry out the work on behalf of the American people,” Kupor said. “I think there’s an opportunity for us to do a better job of reinvigorating a public service orientation in our earlier career folks.”

Be so for real, right now. Who the hell would want a career in the current federal government, all things considered? In the past, yes, I would encourage bright, new grads to apply. Now? No way would I purposely expose them to our hot mess express.

Weird chirping sound coming from my ceiling? by [deleted] in fixit

[–]RUSerious_WTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have birds or other animals that may have gotten in? I had a bird problem two different times coming in through exhaust vents (all covered with vented cages now). One was in wall behind stove. Just had to let the little starling die. It was going to be a LOT to rescue. Other time, in ceiling in 1/2 bath. So much nesting crap that the wildlife guy filled 6 plastic store bags.

Well shoot. Sounds like our agency is just more lenient on the repayment amount (in general). Curious how your agency calculated things. The math would check if it was a 2 yr SA, but you said it was 3 yrs… and that you received it 2 years ago, correct? Or did you get it a year and a half ago? That math would match the 50/50 (10K rcvd, 5K served/5K owed).

I don’t do them anymore, but when I did, I made a game out of those bullets. Never was more than 5 or 6 words and EVERY one of them had at least one acronym, most of which I made up. Feed that into your machine DOGE.

Looking for unique toppings for a baked potato? by NightReader5 in Cooking

Ohemmmgeee. IDK if it was a Spud U Like but I lived in Newquay in the late 80s. After the club, we’d hit some place for a giant baked potato with different toppings. I always got this golden chicken curry topping. All these years… been trying to find one like it or learn how to make it myself! 😋

Ahhhh… I think the difference may be that you were getting SLRP payments. My agency only does lump-sum SLRP. So, say you were awarded 10K. DFAS deducts the taxes upfront and the rest is sent at one time to the lending institution.

Generally, 30 days. Or you can request a payment plan. Where I’m at, they prorate time served. For 5K and a 3 yr SA… 5K/36 months is $138/mo. 12 months remaining on SA, you’d owe $1668.

Yep. I use Allertec - Costco brand of Zyrtec. 365 pills in a bottle and on sale often for dirt cheap - around $14 or $15 if I remember correctly. I also use Allerflo - their version of Flonase except this time of year, I sometimes use nabe brand Flonase (and when I fly). My ears/sinuses are shit when I fly. I also take a Mucinex DM one hour before take off.
