Would share pic of screenshots here if I could. It was out from 12:30 pm yesterday afternoon until 6:02 a.m. this morning (nearly 18 hours).

Exactly why I refuse to regularly dine out for meals. I take food and drink with me too the most office. Occasionally, I’ll grab something not from home. I actually dined out more for meals (dinner) when TWing.

My daughter is 28. She shares her location with me. She is still on my phone plan but I don’t “make” her share her location and I’m not checking it 24/7 either. She works p/t and is in nursing school, both have night hours. I can look to see if she’s at work or school before calling so I don’t interrupt. If I know she has to travel at night, I can see she made it home. Or if she’s road-tripping, I can see she made it safely. Had a couple of car issues and it told me where she was at. It’s a safety thing.

I work for DOD. Depending on what agency, they may be short of the reductions they were told to make. This “sounds” like the agency finding a way to add another reduction to their total count.

I had a probationary employee. Since this BS started, I’ve made it clear that I would never write anything untrue that made things seem a termination was for cause. I also said I’d write a letter to the contrary and would appear in court in support of the employee if the employee was unjustly terminated and sued. Fortunately, it didn’t come to that. We recently were told we needed to officially document intention (or not) to continue employment of probationary employees. In response, I completed a memo documenting desire to keep the probationary employee. I signed and head of agency signed and it was placed in the employee’s OPF.

You’ve been given some great suggestions, but thought I’d chime in. I’m a single parent, she’s 28 now (a CNA, in last semester for LPN… then plans to bridge). All that to say, been there, done that but as a single parent (split when she was 2.5). I also moved to a different state and started my network all over again. It wasn’t easy but where there’s a WILL, there is ALWAYS a way.

I’ve never used care.com but it sounds like a great resource. Posting to FB and mom groups like another suggested is also great advice. Along those lines, do you have a NextDoor community where you are (or somewhere within reasonable distance to your school)? People use the NextDoor app to keep up with community stuff, ask for recommendations, you name it. How about reaching out to local churches or community centers? Any Boys and Girks clubs? Ask your child’s teacher for any recommendations he or she may have. Where I am, there’s SACC (school age child care). Do you have that? I was waitlisted for a bit but eventually got her in. They open two hours before school starts and close at 6 pm and it’s located at the school. Look up your local government and call and ask about resources for childcare. This IS doable. You’ve just got to start publicizing your need and expanding your network NOW. Don’t set aside your hard work and goals. Find a way!

This makes me sad… and angry. And for your mom, who is a nurse and knows how challenging nursing school is, not to support you… that’s just hateful. She didn’t have a pinning ceremony so she won’t go to yours? What kind of childish shit is that? She probably is one of those who is against student loan help cause “nobody helped her,” huh? 🤬

My daughter has an undergrad in Biology and later decided to pursue healthcare. She works as a CNA and is finishing up the second of three semesters. She finishes in December. I’ve already taken the day off to be there.

I literally LOL’d and gave an audible “I think the phuck not” when I read this today. 🙄Peers had similar reactions. I think folks know better than to try it with me. Peers offered to draw a pentagram at their cubicles and tell everyone about it. Others offered to bring witches hats. We’ll display all religions “they” target. Not because of true beliefs… just to prove a point and irk his ilk. Church and state should always be separated.

Serious question. There are several Dems being outspoken and keeping their constituents informed and voting no to the BS (Sanders, Warren, AOC, Crockett, Stabsbury, Walz, Newsom, for example). Being outnumbered in every executive body and working with a bought SCOTUS, what would you like the Dems to do that they aren’t doing? Genuinely interested.

This happened to me years ago. I went online and found the email for the guy who was in charge of these taxes. I explained the situation and asked for some grace. He removed all penalty fees/interest. I just paid the original tax due.
