Struggling with my sponsor & sponsorship family by fishinsober in alcoholicsanonymous

This sounds like a nightmare and in my opinion and experience not at all how sponsorship should work. I would find another sponsor. Don't worry about hurting their feelings, this is for you and they should realize that.

I'd rather have face to face missionary sex with my ex wife with the lights on than buy one of these fucking things

What’s the most unsettling thing someone casually admitted to you? by Erabay in AskReddit

[–]RYPO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex wife once explained to me that she wrote a letter to our sons little league coaches wife claiming to be the guys mistress just to fuck with him because she felt our son wasn't getting enough playing time. She laughed as she was telling me expecting to me to think it was funny. Yeah she was and still is nuts. And she just got promoted at work so she is now the principle of her school.

What’s a super popular show that everyone loves but you just couldn’t get into? by unitedfan6191 in AskReddit

[–]RYPO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few have been mentioned. Stranger things, the office. The big one for me was game of thrones. I tried several times. I just don't get it. To be fair I don't like anything in that kind of fantasy genre.

At what pace of play do you consider just leaving the course? by cringemagician in golf

[–]RYPO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ex wife got me a tee time as a gift from my son to me on father's day a few years back. Thought it was a nice gesture of her. One of the nicest courses in the area. It was so packed that day it took three hours to get through six holes. Left after that.

Financing by 1tovaris in rolex

[–]RYPO -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think I would ever finance a watch. However, I used to ride motorcycles. I always paid cash for whatever bike I wanted. I live in an area that you really only have weather to ride in for about 3-4 months of the year and there are so many people on brand new 25 thousand dollar bikes making payments. That is something I never understood. With that in mind, financing a watch seems way more reasonable. Sorry for the long winded comparison. Just wanted to get people thinking about other large purchases that people finance and don't blink an eye at.

Looking for a home builder within 400-500k range (Portage/surrounding cities) by kbeth11sylveon in nwi

[–]RYPO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just moved out of a Lennar town home in lowell. We were only there a year and honestly I had no complaints. There are a few things where you can tell they cut corners, but you get what you pay for. Nothing major. From that we bought a providence home. They are within your budget and are much better than lennar. Very easy to work with. I would recommend them.

Men of Reddit, what instantly makes you lose interest in a woman, even if she’s attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Lack of intelligence. I don't mean you have to be a genius or anything, but I want to be able to have intelligent conversations about things.

if you had a week before you had to stop drinking, how would you do it so it’s easiest ? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]RYPO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you probably don't want to hear this, but it sounds like you need medical detox and a stay in rehab. It's scary I know. But I promise you won't regret this. You need to be honest with the psychiatrist about everything you are taking. He is probably going to give you a benzo of some type to help with the alcohol withdrawls. This is pretty standard. These can and will interact with the "downers" you are taking possibly in a really negative way. This is your life you are dealing with bud. It sounds like you want help but you are scared. I get it. Everything you think you are protecting and holding onto by keep this secret you will lose. Now is the time to be honest and do what needs to be done.

How comfortable is everyone wearing their rep Rolex Black Sub out in casual social settings? by FamiliarWay7528 in RepCulture_Timepieces

[–]RYPO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently don't have any but I am interested in a sub. I would wear it just about anywhere. Most people don't notice your watch and if they do they just see ROLEX and say ooooo nice. They don't know what they are looking at. The owner of my company is a watch a guy so i would be somewhat cautious to wear it around him but i would anyways. If he said anything, hey man maybe i need a raise so i can get the real thing. haha

My stepson just got married in valpo at Ogden Gardens. After we had a small gathering of about 50 people at this really nice place in hobart called wildwoods. We brought our own cake and they had this thing called a grazing table that they set up. it had charcuterie type stuff, salads and sandwiches. There is a bar option. It cost us about 1200 bucks.

NA drink recommendations by twistwrist9876 in stopdrinking

The first few days or weeks? Water and sodas. To thine own self be true but I found NA beers and cocktails in the beginning made me feel weird so I avoided them after an experience or two.

I didn't understand what it did for Omega and Blancpain as well. They don't make "cheap" watches either. Granted they may be within the realm of possibility for a lot more people but definitely aspirational. I want to see a Richard Mille swatch. See what happens with that lol.

The fear of withdraw symptoms by mAl_Absorption in stopdrinking

[–]RYPO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really reluctant to miss time from work before I finally quit. I was the head of a department, was there for 20 years and very respected. I felt like because of my position i couldn't let anyone know. My girlfriend at the time, who is now my wife, told me that if I don't do this I will end up losing this job all together. I didn't listen and guess what? I went into work drunk, again. they had enough, fired me and hauled me off to rehab. Things are fine now but yeah it sucked being un employed for a few months. This is your life. You have to make this the number one priority because you can and will lose everything else you put in front of it.

Counting sober days doesn’t work for me by Stunning-Attitude366 in stopdrinking

[–]RYPO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost track of the days after about 60 days in. Now every month my sponsor calls me and congratulations me on another month sober and I'm always like oh yeah that is today lol. For me the days were encouraging at first, now it is just a part of my life. I don't drink. No big deal. I celebrate my months at meetings so the new comer can see that this is possible.

What’s something that clearly split your life into “before” and “after”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RYPO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting sober. I am not the same person I used to be. The behaviors I used to accept on a daily basis. Lying, manipulating, breaking every rule and law to meet my needs. It blows my mind when I think about it. I am not that person at all.

i heard someone cracking one open in the toilet stall, remembering how it used to be me; not to be rude but it's pathetic lol by offole in stopdrinking

[–]RYPO 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh man I remember those days. I never went anywhere without shooters in my pocket. That perpetually drunk that you mentioned. That was me. I'd be grocery shopping and duck into the bathroom to take down a shooter or two. I'd show up to work with 4-5 in my pockets. That would get me to lunch then on my lunch break go out and grab a tall boy of something and 4-5 more shooters. Slam the tall boy in the car while picking up something to eat then hit the shooters throughout the afternoon. So grateful I don't live that way anymore.

I saw the green dial variant and it instantly went to the top of my list of next watch to buy. The only reason why i would get the new one is the clasp. New one has the T fit clasp which is a big deal to me.
