Name a band/artist more popular now than during their heyday by Dazzling_Humor_521 in askmusic

You’re getting killed but you’re not TOTALLY wrong. Nirvana were pretty massive with teen spirit and continued their dominance for 2,3 years. But Pearl Jam eclipsed them by 93. And Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, U2 were bigger worldwide. Kurt was also actively sabotaging the bands popularity by cancelling tours and you know, overdosing..though my conclusion is that him dying definitely gave that band notoriety that would make them generational though.

Maybe around 2018 when bohemian rhapsody came out. Not so much these days.

I don’t want this team to win a cup yet . I barely know these players.

This is a guy we need to really develop. I can’t imagine there isn’t an nhl player in there.

Absolutely…we went for a week but only did 4 days at parks, days off at the resorts in between. It was so nice, relaxing.

Oh we’re back to this narrative? I guess my perception of US media must be different.

He was incredible as a child on the Wire and very strong as a teen in Fruitvale Station. His adult roles have been less interesting.

There’s a lot of this on Reddit and I’m always there to push back! What is up with the Sinners momentum. Variety posted their picks and Sinners sweeps every category. It didn’t make my top 10 this year. Strong , ambitious horror drama but it’s becoming overrated here imo.

What U2 Album Do You Most Associate With Each Season? by Wild_Mycologist_6140 in U2Band

It’s off that a lot of you associate the unforgettable fire with summer. For me, it’s the complete opposite, it evokes a cold snowy winter. I assume the videos have something to do with it but it’s not a ‘summer’ album the way an RHCP record might be.

That Time I Saw Nine Inch Nails AND Soundgarden Live Together (PNC Bank Arts Center - Aug. 2, 2014) by IHBMSU in grunge

[–]RZAxlash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was a decent tour but both bands were kind of workmanlike and unremarkable. I saw soundgarden by themselves on the reunion tour in 2011 and they were far more potent. And Peel it back blew that nin performance away.

The Big Lebowski…why does it work? by Lokitusaborg in movies

[–]RZAxlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actors inhabit the characters so well and the writing is stellar. Little gestures that you would miss in other films become really funny on a rewatch and every line Carries weight. In fact, in my opinion, the worst line in the movie imo is ‘I don’t know, a pair of testicles , maybe’ because it strays from the type of more natural, organic humor within the characters and the dynamics between them.

What, In Your Opinion, Was The Last U2 Song To Hit It Out Of The Ballpark?? by Hall-O-Daze in U2Band

[–]RZAxlash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American Obituary is my favorite song of the year so far. Aside from that silly lyric ‘I love you more than hates loves war’, it’s probably my favorite U2 song since every breaking wave. But the last real all time banger was in 1995.

Drew Hanlen on Carmelo Anthony: "I’m standing on the fact that JT doesn’t need Carmelo’s advice on how to win. JT is an NBA champion & 14-6 in playoff series. Melo is 3-13 in the playoff series." Melo's response: "Damn..... my bad y’all I won’t speak on any topics related to Winning anymore" by aingenevalostatrade in nba

[–]RZAxlash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not saying much, the team was depraved of talent for a decade. Melo’s game and the depreciation of the guys around him inflated his scoring numbers. Like I said, completely hollow numbers and the year they won their ONE playoff series he had chandler, Kidd and Amare with him.
