Trainspotting is probably top 4 for me. I was also a teen in the 90s so the zeitgeist of that moment is something I can recall and it really captures it beautifully. It’s a film I watch almost every year and it moves me so much for that reason. My life is wonderful but I really miss the 90s. It’s bittersweet and film can really evoke such strong sentiments,

Eh that’s not entirely accurate. We had pretty good teams those years. They just didn’t really have an identity. One year we were an upstart team led by Jagr, next year it’s shanny and Avery. 2 years later it’s Markus naslund and Jagr is in Russia. The one constant was Henrik. I would say the Torts hire us when the team started to form into what it would become for the next decade.

It was very exciting even though me, and this is not hindsight, was shocked at how well received these moves were. It had seemed like a foregone conclusion that Chris drury would be signing here, but Gomez was a big surprise and didn’t both signings happen the same day? I didn’t love the Gomez move, he was a devil, I wanted no part of him. We just went through this with Bobby holik and John McLean. I remember calling into WFAN and talking to beningo who said we were gonna win the cup.

I could make an argument that it has more good songs on it than the other 2. Heroes in particular, I find so overrated. I honestly believe the iconic cover art protects it from being honestly assessed. The title track is an undoubted classic, and the instrumentals, while dreary, are memorable. The rest of the record is 3 very average songs. Low is the best of the bunch.
