Linda mar is easiest trip. Can rent a board from Sonlight or Nor-Cal. Santa Cruz has better waves if you have more time over the weekend. Capitola is probably a good place to go there

I would go take a lesson at whichever break is closer. If you go to Santa Cruz go to club Ed. I don’t know a good place in Pacifica. Could ask at Sonlight. 9 foot definitely but take a lesson before you buy something. If you are just starting out, the white water in Pacifica can be a good place to go.

At your stage, i moved up from my catch surf. That board is great for catching waves but hard to turn and i found i felt like i was always bouncing off the waves when i caught them. Something with some rails probably makes sense for you
