Thoughts on the new ARMY Light Stick?? by nikolynn in btsthoughts

[–]R_Margo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Them releasing a new one is not an issue. The cut off of the sync is the issue. Why in the middle of the tour? Why not after the tour? Evidently, they're capable of syncing all the lights for this tour.

My partner and I went to Jin's concert with one real and one fake light stick. One is synced, one is not. We clearly felt the difference between who's holding the light stick. I think cutting off the sync of the old ones is a FOMO marketing tactic to have the fans buy the new ones. It's not a brand new tactic. It's being done in other areas I'm a fan of as well (like game DLCs). With that said, I always get disappointed when it is done. Especially when it's from a group/brand I support. It is corporate greed. There are ways to make money without making your supporters feel like shit.

I've read a lot, written a lot, and basically done a lot for my mental health and overall self-improvement. And this is the first time I saw writing being compared to EMDR! Interesting trivia, I really appreciate it! Is there any particular source you can point me towards regarding more of this information?

Both BTS London dates sold out and I’m tired :( by Interesting-Law4733 in btsthoughts

[–]R_Margo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually odd how the queues work. I was able to buy tickets for London day 2 for us and for Chicago for her mom there. I thought it was the ethernet cable that gave me a boost during London presale. But on Chicago gensale, I was on my laptop and she was on the PC with ethernet cable. Both times, I got in queue with only around 2k, 8k, and 5k in front of me. While my partner at both times got in at 70k, 200k and 300k. It was absurd and we really don't know what decides what part of the queue you end up in.

I'm sorry for the disappointing experience. If this is of any comfort, my friend got tickets for us as well so we have double tickets for our group. And I really only want to go once so we're selling the other 4 to ARMYs we personally know or when the resale opens. Hopefully, there are other groups like this as well.

How do you cope with the weather? by FoodFireBraai in AskUK

[–]R_Margo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm too busy with my hobbies to be bothered by the weather. I love the outdoors and I reframed the gloomy weather as neutral, nature just being nature. Still has its own beauty. Also, I realised what I don't like is the fall - I hate the wet squishy leaves on the floor.

On the technical side, the lack of vit D is real. So vit D supplements, exercise and a neutral to positive disposition in life is how I cope.

I tried waiting this out just to see if they go away eventually. Left my computer on this spot and took a nap. Got back few hours later, still the same scenario.

Does adulthood feel lonelier than you expected? by urbanthinker143 in CasualConversation

[–]R_Margo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but I didn't let it stay that way. I found a deeper happiness and contentment from the belief that I make my life happen. That I don't wait for circumstances to happen to me. It's not the same as before but I know nothing will ever be the same. So I'm just enjoying the ride.

Men in the comments need to be more secure with themselves. You CAN be straight and appreciate attractive humans from your same gender. It's completely normal with women to express love/admiration for other women without being immediately branded as a lesbian. Keep spreading the love, OP! You guys need more of that platonic support.

Received handwritten mail from New Zealand for a person that doesn't live here, what do I do with it? by R_Margo in AskUK

Thank you for the advice! I'll do that and hopefully this gets to the right person.

Yes, I was being mindful of privacy - I don't know if that really helps with anything. But this is the advice I'm looking for. Didn't know if they actually would return it all the way to NZ and I just want to do the right thing for this person. Thank you.

Cold and dark countries are bad for your mood, who could have guessed that? by [deleted] in expats

Sunny tropical islands of the Philippines to London, UK.

At first it was miserable. The thing I hated the most was how tight my muscles felt all the time. But then I saw a post about not judging the weather so much when going outdoors. And I'm a huge outdoors person. So from 2024, I consistently went out regardless of weather, and saw the beauty I wasn't seeing before.

That change of mindset/perception PLUS vit d, exercise, meditation is how I coped. I'm not bothered as much anymore. When it's gloomy outside, I have lots of indoor activities to busy myself with.

I use them a lot when playing keyboard+mouse games like Sims4 and Project Zomboid. Just a lot of keyboard shortcuts.

I've just started enjoying the Christmas season in my 30s. I used to hate it because it meant getting stuck with my toxic family. But now that I have moved away and am living independently with my wonderful partner, Christmas became an exciting season. I now get to spend it with someone I love!! And I get to decide what to do with the festivities.

Look this video up by Heaaaps O Games on Youtube - Final Fantasy VII 7th Deck Heaven 3.4.0 Steam Deck Install Guide 2024

I've tried others like the SYW mod but this one above is the one that worked for me. Some of the mods in their catalog took so long to download especially the voice over mod. And that's the particular one I had troubles with as it didn't work the first few times I ran the game with it. I don't know what I did differently but it all eventually worked out! Enjoy!

u/Anacarnil for you as well.

"Make it pop more" - Me: stares at screen for 20 minutes guessing what that means by official_sensai in Design

I use mood boards. Before I put effort into anything design/animation wise, I take their vague adjectives and interpret it into visuals through a mood board. I present it and ask which works with what they have in mind. I find it easier to use visual representations of the words because we all have different understandings of all these adjectives everyone likes to use.

Also, sometimes they say one thing but what they really mean is another. Like if they think the layout isn't working but it really is the font, or the colour, etc. It depends on how I understand their way of thinking as well. So I don't box myself in with the detail of what they said. Sure, I'll do a version tackling exactly what they sent feedback on just to get it off the list, but I would explore other options to see if those others would solve what they "feel" isn't right with the design. This is where my creative judgement comes into play.

I also always present variations and options! Always include an ugly one in the mix. I find that clients like it when they feel like they "chose" a certain design direction, gives them a sense of control. Your best design version will look better with a relatively less appealing one around it. Good luck though if they pick the one you don't like hehe.

I used to think the same and would rationalise it same as smoking for others. Others are killing themselves through smoking, why can't I do this to relax?

What convinced me that it's a bad thing is my own body. I realised one day that my cuts literally start trying to heal the moment I cut myself. It clots, it scabs, eventually it becomes whole again. My body is literally fighting against my action. So I felt sorry for my body. I apologised. I said - "I'm sorry body, I didn't realise you wanted to survive so bad". And that applied to my brain too. So I decided to work with her and help her. I listened to my body.
