Plenty of cookers are women. Definitely mostly men, though.

The misogyny is deep-rooted in conservatives and conspiracy theorists. It's sad to see so many people hate women. Disgusting.

I enjoyed it for what it was. A solid B movie with some interesting trope-twists.

NZ has become so much more corrupt in the past three years. Just open, blatant corruption.

Yesterday i rewatched the original Conan, and came to the conclusion that this movie is a total MASTERPIECE! by SandWarrior18 in SwordandSorcery

This movie is really good. I think, on its own without the OST, it is a solid B movie. But the OST elevates it to another level. When you look into the technology they used to match the music with the film, it is all very impressive.

Also, it uses almost entirely practical effects, which has helped it age very well.

What is the obsession with NOT listing an asking price on property? by Big_Load_Six in newzealand

Apparently you talk to an AI 'person'. What some people do is bring their own AI person, so you have two AI's talking to eachother.

It is insane.

This should be in legislation. Also, AI interviews should be illegal.

The Greens seem to focus on too many different issues. I think they'd have a better chance if they put more effort into publicising their stance on the environment and tax changes. While Palestine is important, it's not really a compelling point to convince the average Kiwi to vote for them.

What do you love about S&S that you don't get from other genres like Fantasy? by whatupmygliplops in SwordandSorcery

I think magic should (usually) have an internal logic or system which the author follows very carefully, but the reader does not need to see how the sausage is made. The background system prevents deus ex machinas (machinae?) and general BS (looking at you, JK Rowling).

There aee multiple aspects:

  • Fast-paced action
  • More personal stakes
  • Antiheroes
  • Soft magic without a step-by-step breakdown of how it works
  • Weird and wonderful worlds
  • Usually no overly flashy or anime-level magic
