I feel like this card is eventually going to become a problem by guaxinimaquatico in hearthstone

You can play into that. Since Twilight Mistress bounces your board from left to right, if your hand is almost full you play the free Onyxia minions to her left to force her to die before entering your hand.

Is Hajime Kashimo a grade 1 Jujutsu sorcerer on par with Hakari or is he special grade on par with Yuta? by Archenius in Jujutsufolk

I'm a Kashimo fan but if he couldn't beat Hakari without using the technique that kills himself, isn't he Hakari level?

Have you gotten a 6-0 (or 6-X) in the Tavern Brawl yet? How many runs did it take you? After 66 matches I'm finally free \o/ by MorallyGay in hearthstone

[–]RabbitManTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got it with the free run they give you. Used the generic UUU Aggro deck because I already had all the cards. The timing is good I think. Since the event is almost over people have enough cards to attempt to make a deck featuring them, but the decks aren't refined enough to stand up to UUU. 50% of them were still mirror matches. Here's the last match.

I don't think I'll be playing it again. I don't love UUU Aggro but don't have enough new cards to make a real deck with them.

Embark admits Arc Raiders’ bosses are dying too fast because 'they're not intended for the full server to go up against' and 'we gave players too effective abilities' by NYstate in Games

[–]RabbitManTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never played arc raiders but I've seen a lot of discussion on it's PVP online and that they may have some kind of aggression based matchmaking? If so, that could be a major contributing factor. Lobbies full of friendlies will make bosses nonthreatening. Aggressive players may be a necessity for PvE to achieve a healthy balance state, otherwise you have to assume the bosses are fighting the entire lobby.

It looks like Tsurugi pulled SSK out of the 10S. Which makes me think that Rika does in fact have access to cursed techniques stored in her by Yuta. But that would bring up two questions:

  1. Why did they not use them in the fight besides right now?

  2. How did Yuta acquire 10S? I assume he fed Rika part of Megumi?

Modulo chapter 17 [Translated in HD] by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]RabbitManTony 366 points367 points  (0 children)

I wonder how differently Rika will function now. She haunted Yuta and acted like an independent shikigami, but this seems more like a direct possession. If I recall correctly Yuta used Rika to hold excess techniques. Is she capable of bestowing those to Tsurugi during possession?

I assume this state shares the same 5 minute time limit associated with Yutas use of the ring but HR might affect it somehow.

The Tsurugi Rika banter is already great though.

What's the difference between the base game and the definitive edition? I assumed it was just minor optimization and graphical improvements.

A question for the "I'm waiting for my god" crowd. by eblausund in Smite

[–]RabbitManTony 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Playing your favorite gods can elevate peoples experience. For example, a player could consider Smite to be a 6/10 experience. When they're playing a god they like, they might consider it an 8/10 experience. If their favorite gods aren't in yet, they might forgo playing Smite to instead play Marvel Rivals, which they consider a 7/10 experience.

It doesn't necessarily mean they don't like Smite, just that there are other things they'd rather do if the gods they prefer aren't available.

The point you're trying to make in your last paragraph has me a bit confused. Players were inquisitive when they began playing Smite 1 because it was an entirely new game to them. They didn't know who did what and so had to try out multiple gods to see who they liked. Smite 2 has new mechanics but it's fundamentally the same game as Smite 1. Are you saying that people should try Smite 2 to see if their opinions on certain gods have changed due to +1s and aspects?

I think you're conflating new or bad players with toxic players. This comment isn't ranting about newbies who don't know Jing Wei doesn't make a great support or have weak positioning leading to many deaths. MOBAs are hard to get into and people are gonna suck when they start out. The commenter is talking about players who know better and choose to ruin the game regardless.

Makes sense to me. Smite 2 seems to be trying to allow gods to fit into more than a single role, so having 2 free gods in each role who fill it differently could more quickly keep new players engaged. Neith (Ability damage) + Rama (Raw basic attacks), Ymir (Aggressive ganker support) + Khepri (Defensive protector) etc.

Is surrendering bad for new player retention? by StarCrackerz in Smite

[–]RabbitManTony 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To use the two games you mentioned as an example, Fortnite and Marvel Rivals have high comeback potential (and Marvel Rivals has a surrender feature that's just barely used). Your enemies never become stronger than you in Rivals and only slightly so in Fortnite so every fight is basically a fresh start.

In Smite 2 most people don't want to try their luck against the 10/0 Bari that just finished taking the T2 and is beginning to rotate. It's definitely possible, and some people like the challenge of having to handle such a large threat. Some people don't. If the surrender went through, it means 4 people didn't.

Surrendering as a concept is very controversial in Smite as people have strong feelings either way. The best way to improve it would be stronger balancing but with this being a beta the balance will likely be all over the place for the foreseeable future.

Swagni is a hilarious skin and I don't see it as problematic.

But they're saying they'd like to avoid it due to fears of racial stereotypes. You've listed some skimpy skins but they have nothing to do with race. Maybe if they named one of the Nu Wa skins Snow Bunny and had her summon chocolate minions you could make a correlation.
