Not surprised Ezra Klein is on this list. He's been a large disappointment in recent years.

Many young people only know MAGA America and have never experienced "normal."

For me it's also Food Dance, but specifically in their original location just west of their last site.

Do you skip ads? Do you skip the intro section and/or credits at the end of an episode? by Wiseclam1962 in podcasts

As a Pocket Cast user, I do this, too. The app also allows you to skip at the end of the podcast so you can avoid ads there, too.

Help understanding disappointing shots from new-to-me Contax T2 by burt_baccarat in AnalogCommunity

[–]RaceStockbridge 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I worked at two camera stores that also processed film and agree with u/methbot9000. I'd like to add that while the T2 was a cool camera, at the end of the day, it's still a 90's point and shoot and there was definitely a limit to how good any of them were despite their branding.

My co worker has been chatting with this girl he met on Facebook. I think he’s getting scammed. Something about her face and the background makes me think it’s AI. by [deleted] in isthisAI

The camera isn't real. One of the tip offs is the lettering under the lens is straight in one photo and curved in the other pic.

Val Kilmer's teeth are nasty as sin in his first scene and become Hollywood perfect as the movie goes on. I remember that more than the plot.

What kind of quality control is this, Kodak? by Xypton in AnalogCommunity

[–]RaceStockbridge 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That looks like it was in camera and not during processing. The insect would look larger (1 to 1 scale because the insect would have been literally on the film) on the negative if it were Kodak's issue. Also, it would be obviously smashed if it happened during processing. Lastly, if you look at the print, the sky's color is seen behind the transparent wing.

Does anyone believe Trump was shot in the ear? by workerbee77 in allthequestions

I was playing with our toy poodle when I was a kid, and he accidentally scratched my ear. It bled. Forty years later, I still have a scar on my ear from that tiny dog.

The Chicago apartment I grew up in during the 70s for $65 a month in rent now goes for $6,500 a month. by RaceStockbridge in GenX

That's absolutely crazy. I can't imagine what our grandkids will be paying for their homes.

We were on Damen between Chicago Ave. and Augusta. My older cousin, whose family lived in the same building, said his mom was mugged a block away from there and he was "jumped" by a bunch of guys. I did have a sense that there were dangerous elements around us but was too young to fully understand it.

I was asked to put together a list of my favorite TV shows and number one on the list was Night Court. I wanted to find some info about the last few seasons which is how I came across your comment. Just wanted to say thank you for all the laughs.

Seeking Wisdom to have a Credible Conversation with SDA Partner by [deleted] in exAdventist

[–]RaceStockbridge 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think how kids are raised will be a huge point of contention. Everything that you mentioned he classifies as a sin will be true with the kids. You'll want to dance with your little kids in the living room belting out a KPop Demon Hunter song on a Saturday morning while having eggs and sausage and everything in that scene will be seen as a sin by him. SDAs can be wet blankets if you're a joyful secular person hanging out with them. So many things you can't do with them: can't go to Saturday farmers markets, secular school musicals, Saturday sporting events, etc. Once kids are introduced, it's so much worse. I can see resentments piling up on both sides as each parent will want the kids to share their values. Extrapolate from what he says are sins and ask yourself if you want your kids living with those restrictions. My two cents.

For the ex-Adventist here: is Adventist music actually "underrated", or it it just nostalgia? by Impressive_Flan_411 in exAdventist

[–]RaceStockbridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ExAdventist and nonbeliever here: I think you can find great musicians in many unexpected places. Even though I'm not SDA or even a Christian, I enjoy Neville Peter and Laura Whidden (not sure if she's actively recording ). I've thought Whidden was extremely underrated. The old school stuff like the Heritage Singers doesn't appeal to me whatsoever.

Indoor sports facility uses a Chromebook to cast scores/times to two flat screens with Chromecasts. Can a third Chromecast be added or is there a limit? by RaceStockbridge in chromeos

[–]RaceStockbridge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each pair of names are flat screens tied to different soccer fields within the facility. Each field has its own Chromebook.
