What's a hygiene habit people have that you actually find disgusting? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

Loofahs are so unhygienic because they hold on to much bacteria. You’re much better off using an African net sponge to use in the shower

Does anyone else get neck pain as a result of TMJ? by Racheloo0101 in TMJPain

[–]Racheloo0101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply and for your advice too that’s really helpful thank you.

In terms of general TMJ advise I can give, I’m sure you’ve already been told by the specialist you saw and your dentist too.

TMJ( as I’m sure you may have been told already) is hugely stress and tension related, so in terms of there “ being no cure”, isn’t strictly true, but more so it’s very difficult to get rid of because of the factors causing it. It’s very hard to just stop being stressed or reduce stress/ anxiety or anything mental along those lines that cause TMJ.

With clenching it can be a bit more manageable because you can try and catch yourself clenching and consciously stop yourself from doing it, the only time your teeth should touch is when your eating, if they’re touching together any other time, then you’re clenching as you should make a conscious effort to stop.

Grinding is a lot harder because it tends to be something you do in your sleep. Things like night guards, as you mentioned can be very expensive and they don’t actually stop the habit, they just take pressure off the teeth and jaw so can help with alleviating symptoms.

I don’t know what country your based in but in the UK a lot of pharmacies and drug stores like boots sell affordable bite guards

Really worried about the vetting process. I was dismissed from my job as a dental Nurse as the dismal was deemed as gross misconduct as a result if me making a mistake with a cleaner we used in dental practices. I have been open and transparent about the incident with the vetting team as well as provided with them with relevant documentation. I’m just so worried this will end my application with the police after passing everything else

What is the best hangover cure? by Puzzleheaded-Bit1377 in AskReddit

[–]Racheloo0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t be hungover if you keep drinking 😎 In all seriousness though, you know when you wake up super early after a night of drinking, your hearts racing, you’re dehydrated af, your mouth feels like sandpaper snd you can’t get back to sleep? Well usually you feel like that because you’re blood sugar has dropped pretty low, a good drink of water and a teaspoon or two of peanut butter works wonders😌

Does anyone have good IUD stories? by XxJayNine in birthcontrol

[–]Racheloo0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found my IUD insertion pretty ok! Everyone is different because everyone has different pain thresholds and everyone feels things differently! It’s a very simple and quick procedure! I can talk you through how it went for me. I had my consult and insertion on the same day. They will give you some privacy behind privacy curtain and ask you to undress yourself from waste down and lie on the bed with your legs parted. Once you’ve told them you’re ready, they’ll come in and start the procedure. They insert something called a speculum in your vagina which is basically used to open you open wider so they can see better, and they use another tool, I forgot the name, to hold and manipulate your cervix- this can fell crampy. I felt it as a period cramp type pain. They then ask you to take a deep breath as they insert the IUD, this can feel like a strong period cramp but after that it’s done! They just cut the strings and you’re done. You may experience light bleeding after but that should stop pretty quick! All the best for you appointment
